741 | Audio study of Prophets | Ezek 1:1 | skccab | 209640
Shalom y'all Does anyone know of an online site that has a very good audio study of the individual prophets? A site that allows you to download audio teachings? I can't seem to find teachings from the prophets. Especially Ezekiel and Zachariah. Thank you in advance :-) Cheri |

743 | Where were the bones placed | Ezek 24:5 | skccab | 202073
Shalom Azure, Eze 24:5 Take the choice of the flock, and pile also the bones under it; make it boil well, that the bones thereof may also be seethed in the midst of it. (JPS) Eze 24:5 “Take the choice of the flock, also pile bones under it, cook it thoroughly, also let the bones cook in it.” The Scriptures Ezek. 24:5 "Put in it pieces of meat, all the best parts - the thigh, the shoulder; fill it with the choiest cuts, taken from the pick of the flock, and pile the bones underneath. Bring it to a rolling boil, till it's all cooked, even the bones." CJB Looks like you had it figured out, sister Azure, and it seems the Amplified is the closest to the three I've shared with you. It seems these 3 translations agree with you and the Amp.- the JPS (Jewish Publication Society) is the English translation of the Jews' Scriptures, The Scriptures is the whole (Old and New but I'm not sure if the translator is Jewish born or not) and CJB (Complete Jewish Bible) is the whole Bible translated by a Jewish believer in Messiah :-) (For myself, when an Old Testament verse or thought seems hard to understand I sometimes, though not always, can find it more easily understood when I check the JPS.) Hope this helped Cheri |

744 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186135
Hi Mrodri, Maybe it's the large spread of the Gospel and the pouring out of the Spirit as promised in Joel. A river that you can't go over, nor under, not even through it, you have to go "into" it, become a part of it. I'm just beginning to put the Word back into my life first place, so that's just a thought. There are some members of this forum, who, I'm sure will add much insight soon. |

745 | The theme is unleashed waters to swin in | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186137
Mrodri, Where do you get the term "unleashed waters to swim in", from which translation? I use the Amplified, NASB, and KJV mainly, and the words used are "torrent" "risen waters" "river too deep," so that you cannot wade in it, you must totally immerse yourself and swim in it. I believe it represents the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. First a small trickle in Asia Minor then it gets deeper and deeper and deeper as it moves throughout the earth. As a new believer, you hear but a trickle of the Gospel, you believe it and immerse yourself in it, and thru the Holy Spirit you move deeper and deeper into the revelations of God's mercy and grace and love. Maybe that's what is "unleashed"? As we as believers move from milk to the meat of the Word, from grace to grace, from faith to faith? If I'm way off here, please forgive, and correct. Blessings Cheri |

746 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186141
Hi Mark, I take it that way as well, but the original person wanted to know the term "unleashed". So, as well as it being a literal building and river, I think there also is a symbolic meaning as well. The passage speaks first of Ezekiel wading, then treading, and then swimming. Blessings Cheri |

747 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186155
Blessings, Mark Thank you for your gracious reply. I told mrodri to look forward to other responses from people who know the Word a whole lot more than me. That was just my take on the passage as a whole and his/her question. I look forward to the others responses too. You guys are most helpful. (I'm sure you know the ones I'm referring to. I've been on the forum for about a week now and yours and their names just keep popping up. I've really enjoyed the dialogue and have grown thereby.) Thank you Cheri |

750 | what is a Daniel's fast? | Daniel | skccab | 193212
Hi Chuy, Your question leaves much to the imagination so I'm just gonna take a shot at it. Are you referring to Dan. 10:2-3? I can tell you how many people interpret this kind of fast (others here on the Forum will probably have some insights for you also). It doesn't state that Daniel did not eat or drink at all during this period. Instead, it says that no "tasty" food, nor meat or wine was consumed, and no pleasantries such as ointments were used. So, many folks perform a "Daniel fast" by eliminating "favorites" from their meals for a period (eating purely for sustenance) and during the times they might be thinking about the wonderful Outback steak meal they give that time to prayer/worship/Bible study. Others often will turn off the TV or stereo for a week or two and "give" that time to the Lord. It could be the giving up for a time of anything that we do strictly for our fleshly pleasures. That is, we don't stay home from work for 5 days , or leave the dishes in the sink for a week, we don't give up that hour of bedtime stories with the kids, etc. In other words, a "Daniel fast" is simply a quick, descriptive term for giving to God what is His . 751 | daniel 11:37 translation differences | Dan 11:37 | skccab | 197952
Good morning bible believer, I don't have any references right at hand but I do have a little bit of logic. First the Jews are still looking for their Messiah to come (and he must be Jewish), and second, this Messiah will bring peace to Israel, and third, this antichrist is supposed to deceive the Jews in particular. So it stands to reason that most likely antichrist will be Jewish, at least by heritage if not in faith (but it wouldn't surprise me if outwardly he appeared to be a very pious Jew). Just my 2cents worth at 4am :-) Cheri |

752 | daniel 11:37 translation differences | Dan 11:37 | skccab | 197961
Bible Beleiver, Sorry for the misunderstanding. The differences, tho in this instance minor, is scary. The implications... Did the discrepancies take place in the text proper, or in study notes? Cheri |

753 | Tribulation---7 years long? | Dan 12:11 | skccab | 186880
I've always thought they would be Elijah and Enoch - reason? The Bible says it is appointed to man to die once - these two were caught away from earth alive, they never died. And the only thing we know for sure about the 2 is that they are live, marked by God and appointed by God to preach for a certain length of time And then they will be killed, left alone dead and then raised from the dead and caught away again. But my idea of them being Elijah and Enoch is definitely in the minority, most do think Elijah and Moses, cause of the Transfiguration. blessings cheri |

754 | Judah and Israel Reunited? | Amos 2:4 | skccab | 207291
Good morning Tumbleweed, Let me first welcome you to the forum. Very glad to have you here!! As far as I know the nation Israel never re-united in Bible times. I'm 99.99999etc. percent sure they did not. In May 1948 Israel once again became a sovereign State. But those that returned were the Jews. (In Bible-ese the people from the tribe of Judah and Benjamin, the Southern Kingdom, were the ones called "Jews.") The Southern and Northern Kingdoms of the Bible not yet re-united. On June 7, 1967 at 10:20am Israel re-entered the Old City of Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and the Wailing Wall. Southern and Northern tribes not yet re-united. In March 2005 the 'powers that be' in Israel decided that the little groups of Israelites spread all over the world who were claiming to be members of this or that tribe from the Northern Kingdom (aka Ephraim and/or Israel) were indeed children of Abraham. They opened the doors to these Israelites with the condition that they adopt Judiasm as their official religious/life-style. (Since the records that were kept in the Temple were destroyed in 70AD, I don't know what criteria the state of Israel is looking at when making these decisions - I'd like to know if someone else does :-) ). Southern and Northern Kingdoms still not re-united yet. There is one group of Israelites that are not welcome in their homeland (even though, as I understand it, the state of Israel agrees that these people are from the tribes they are claiming to be from)- they are world wide, many in Ethiopia and other areas in Africa. They have accepted Jesus as their Messiah and they will not renounce Him, so they are not being allowed to return home. The total reunion of the nation of Israel will not be complete till these are allowed to return also! Ezek. 37 is happening right now!! Individuals from the tribes of Jacob are coming to the Lord and returning to their homeland! We are living in the days of Prophecy, before our very eyes!!! Hope this helps a bit Cheri |

760 | Return to celebrating 7 Festivals? | Zechariah | skccab | 201519
Shalom Jamie, Welcome to SBF. The one that I can think of right off the top of my head is found in Zech. 14:16-19. This is Sukkot, the Feast of Booths or Tents - it's the festival that takes place in the fall and is the last of the series of 7, yet to be fulfilled. Hope this helped Cheri |
