681 | being a covering for your wife? | Proverbs | skccab | 196027
Shalom Gtamike80, Welcome to the forum. Prov. 31:10-31 is a pretty good place to start, I think. Cheri |

682 | Proverbs 3:3 | Proverbs | skccab | 211737
Sirhighsmith, It seems to be quite simple: Let mercy and truth be with you always in everything you do. If you are forever seeking mercy and truth, then those attributes will always come from you. A person seeking after mercy and truth will not be harsh and full of lies. Connect Prov. 3:3 to Phil 4:8 and see if that helps you understand. :o) Cheri |

683 | Pr. 6:23 the commandment is a lamp??? | Prov 6:23 | skccab | 212859
Shalom Tim, Does not the Prov. 6 passages just bring one around full circle to what God commanded Moses to tell the Israelites in Deut. 6:4-7, the latter part being "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up"? Childrens' parents were supposed to teach their children the instructions of their God. Have a blessed day Cheri |

686 | Mans appropriate relation to animals? | Prov 12:12 | skccab | 187308
Hi all, May I give you my lean on that verse? I've always thought that it says delight yourself in the Lord and He will put inside your heart desires that He would have you to desire and then there would be absolutely no problem to Him to fulfill the desires, becasue they would in no wise be contrary to His Word. I hope that made sense. blessings cheri |

689 | Is a thought from God or satan ? | Prov 16:3 | skccab | 188176
Hi Fred, What Doc said is very true. Once you are aware of what Scripture says, it's not so difficult. But I thought I might could help add a little down-to-earth counsel - at least, this helps me sometimes: Your own mind: if I find myself rationalizing that it's not completely off the Word of God, kind of on the Word - more prayer time and searching of the Scripture is needed. The devil: when it's just slightly off the Word, if I've been in prayer and searching the Word but I can't see Jesus or Paul or any of the apostles doing it, it might be best to let the idea go. (My own spirit won't be comfortable with the go-ahead.) God: It's right on the Word, I can easily see Jesus or any Spirit-filled person doing the thing in question. (And the Spirit witnesses with my own spirit that it's a godly thing to do.) If I really can't figure it out, I'll ask another believer or a Pastor to pray with me about the thing - that's what the brothers and sisters in the Lord are all about. Upholding and encouraging and exhorting the brethren. Hope this helps cheri |

Sorry, I forgot the Scripture you wanted. Your own mind: Rom. 7:15-25 The devil: Gen. 3:1-7; Mt. 4:3, 5-6, 8-9 God: 1 Cor. 2:16 just to get you started. |

691 | where do animals go when they expire? | Eccl 3:21 | skccab | 191549
Hiya Hank, Why wasn't the Maccabees included in the Tanakh, had it already been pulled together by that time? (Historical years/dates escape me most of the time.) I just wondered cos one of the sweetest Jewish celebrations is chronicled in those books. Cheri |

Thank you, Rabban, at some point in time, concerning all scripture, each person must make a decision on its "face-value" and deeper meanings. Letting Scripture interpret Scripture is all very good and well, and to be sought - but the human mind must be exercised somewhere in that process. Cheri |

693 | Predestination | Eccl 6:10 | skccab | 197798
Shalom Michael T Quote: "how do you reconcile your theory of “universal salvation” with the fact that in the centuries from Creation till Christ’s incarnation in 6 BC, innumerable millions of people perished in unbelief and sin and were justly condemned to eternal punishment in Hell to bear the penalty of their sins. Surely a god that according to you, wants everyone without any exception to be saved, could have and should have saved those sinners now in Hell. But he-it did not do so." I suggest you re-read the Hebrew scriptures. You are highly mistaken! Cheri |

694 | Predestination | Eccl 6:10 | skccab | 197830
Shalom, I did - the entire Hebrew Scriptures! From word one to the last word - it is a promise to "whoever will." God has prepared a feast but He won't force anyone to partake. All those before Yeshua were saved by their trust in the Promise to come, all those during and afterward are saved by their trust in the Promise fulfilled. And if one had to be alive during Yeshua's lifetime (or afterward) to receive salvation by grace through faith, then please explain why not one apostle or disciple is named in Hebrews chapter 11 that describes the kind of trust it takes to please Abba. 695 | Predestination | Eccl 6:10 | skccab | 197908
Shalom and happy holiday DFP, I wouldn't worry about predestination too much. I've come to realize that for many people the fact that our Father set into motion from day one provision for our redemption just doesn't make them "special" enough - they need more. Go ahead live your life, love your Lord, and we'll meet up with all of our brothers and sisters who partook of the feast prepared in the world to come!! Cheri |

696 | Predestination | Eccl 6:10 | skccab | 198171
Shalom Brad, I have to totally agree with you. Tim is full of the Spirit of God, and as far as being full of errors and inconsistencies - that is not Tim Moran!! My question is Why is it so important, this calvin/arminian debate? Isn't it enough to be a member of God's family? Isn't it we either are or we are not? Maybe I'm just brain-dead, but I don't see what the big deal is here, a deal so big it causes dangerous pride and almost name-calling. Again, maybe I'm really dense, but it's enough for me to know that God figured the whole thing out, Yeshua did His part, and I've done my part which is believe and trust fully in that very same finished work. Another question: If every single person decided that Calvin was right or if every single person decided that Arminianism is right - is that going to change the status of their salvation in the least? Hope you had and continue to have a great holiday Cheri |

698 | Need google help for timeline fulfullmen | Isaiah | skccab | 208955
Shalom y'all, In the book of Isaiah, especially, there are numerous passages that read something like: "within a year, this, that or the other thing will happen..." and it's God speaking to Isaiah. Is there a place on line that I can go to check this out, get the timeline and fulfillment? I can't seem to think of what to google, what search words to use. Any help? Thanks Cheri |

Shslom Searcher, Thank you so much. I went to the sites and saved them for later. (Get to go back to work this afternoon, a little scary, but very excited! Thank you for asking.) I had tried to google the cities that were being referred to in those passages but that wasn't giving me the full information that I was wanting, just wikipedia stuff. God's day to you Cheri |

700 | what do Isaiah 58:9-12 mean? | Isaiah | skccab | 213069
Shalom New Kid Welcome to the Forum!! Isa 58:9 Then you will call, and Adonai(the Lord) will answer; you will cry, and he will say, "Here I am." If you will remove the yoke from among you, stop false accusation and slander, Isa 58:10 generously offer food to the hungry and meet the needs of the person in trouble; then your light will rise in the darkness, and your gloom become like noon. Isa 58:11 Adonai will always guide you; he will satisfy your needs in the desert, he will renew the strength in your limbs; so that you will be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails. Isa 58:12 You will rebuild the ancient ruins, raise foundations from ages past, and be called "Repairer of broken walls, Restorer of streets to live in." Isa 58:13 "If you hold back your foot on Shabbat (the Sabbath) from pursuing your own interests on my holy day; if you call Shabbat a delight, Adonai's holy day, worth honoring; then honor it by not doing your usual things or pursuing your interests or speaking about them. Isa 58:14 If you do, you will find delight in Adonai — I will make you ride on the heights of the land and feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Ya'akov (Jacob/Israel), for the mouth of Adonai has spoken." CJB, (parentheses added for clarification) These verses are God speaking to Israel, they had not been walking in God's commands. Those who would begin to do so would be the ones who would begin bringing about the restoration of Zion as in the former days. Hope this helps. Cheri |
