221 | Can a Christian go to Night Clubs | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 222683
Brad, Absolutely brother. Nine times out of ten we already know the answer even before we ask. I like to use Romans 14 because it deals with allot of stuff that might not even be an issue of doctrine or faith. (Diputable matters) I really appreciate your treatment of this subject. A little application of these scriptures would go a long way in preventing division and conflict among God's people. In Him, lionheart |

224 | WHEN DID SIGNS AND WONDERS STOP? | Acts 2:16 | lionheart | 222408
mlongwood87, Welcome to the forum my friend. This can be a divisive issue in many different ways. You have received some very good answers from some very learned individuals. I've always been a meat and potato's kind of guy and I believe God's Word is very exacting in what it says (Keeping in mind 2 Tim 2:15 2 Pt 1:20,21) while also being broad in scope. One of the biggest mistakes Christians make today is we tend to put things in a box. And when we do that we can limit God. God's signs and wonders went beyond the gifts and still do today. We still see em in our lives everyday as we continue to walk with God. In Him, lionheart |

alexey, The best and surest way we have in deepening our relationship and understanding of God as disciples of Jesus Christ is His Word. 2 Tim 2:15,3:16,17 2Peter 1:20,21. Developing sound Biblestudy habits and consistent prayer will give you that deeper understanding that you desire and that God wants you to have. In Him, lionheart |

234 | Is Salvation lump sum? | Heb 7:25 | lionheart | 220124
Dear lightedsteps, Doc had a very valid point. As a child and young adult I grew up and spent my time in some fairly conservative Baptist fellowships. For the last sixteen years I've been part of a non denomination evangelical fellowship. This is where I became a disciple and I'm very blessed of God to belong to a fellowship of believers that are strong in their faith and biblically sound. The bottom line is your relationship with God and His call on your life. In Him, lionheart |

236 | PSALM 52 | Ps 52:2 | lionheart | 219465
cececapel, Welcome to the forum. Part of understanding Psalm 52 will be in understanding the context in which it was written. Psalm 52 gives an account of Davids flight from Saul. In the context of what is written here and how we should see it today we gotta understand that those that appose God and his people will always be trying to devise things to undermine those who want to walk with God. We see in Davids reply to all that was happening to him his trust was in God and his sovereignty. He had trust for God and his provision and stayed grateful inspite of what was happening to him. 2 Tim 3:12 is a good passage of scripture to keep in mind. When we take a stand on God's Word there will oft time be opposition. But as with David God has our back. In Him, lionheart |

237 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | lionheart | 219451
Dhaniei, There is no reason for you to be ashamed of your heritage,it's part of who you are. But when it's all said and done it's what God says about us and who we are that counts above all else. Would that we would all strive to see ourselves through God's eyes. In Him, lionheart |

238 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | lionheart | 219445
YenslaRap, My whole reference to this whole discussion wasn't in regard to how you or others choose to address yourselves but on keeping things biblicaly centered. This applies to every last one of us.What does God's Word say and when we come across things in our lives and believing that may not be clear are we willing to change our believing or way of doing things to line up with what the Word says. Bottom line its not about what I believe but what the Word says, We mold our believing around the Word and not the other way around. All I'm saying dear heart is we gotta let Gods Word speak and we gotta be listening. In Him, lionheart |
||||||
239 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | lionheart | 219435
YenslaRap, Yes but oft time bias, opinions what ever one will throw into the mix will oft become doctrine for certain certain individuals so it's not a matter of everyone's got one. What we teach can make a difference in someones salvation. It's not a matter of splitting hairs it is a matter of teaching the Word (1 Tim 4:16, 2 Tim 2:15 2 PT 1:19,20)not splitting hairs. In Him, lionheart |
||||||
240 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | lionheart | 219433
YenslaRap, True we all may have our own point of view but how does it line up with scripture. 1 Tim 4:6-16, 2 Tim 2:15, 3:14-17 and 2 Pt 1:19,20. Points of view are no guarantee for truth. If the basics of these scriptures are adhered too then yes an unbiased assessment can be rendered the only question that remains is where our hearts are. Cause what any of us say or think pales in comparison to God's Word and that has to be the sole source for living and for what we believe. In Him, lionheart |
