2481 | Do we sleep , awaiting Jesus' return? | Phil 1:23 | justme | 62948
1Thessalonians 4:13 to 18. These verses refer to those who die in Christ. The words "those who have fallen asleep" are mentioned here and other passages. Does thia mean when we die that we are in a state of sleep until the coming of the Lord. For some this is called grave sleep. I am aware that no matter if there is grave sleep or as Hebrews 9:27 says "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgement." NASB Even this verse can mean that AFTER, which who knows when after is, could mean when Christ returns, then it is after. Please answer this only with scriptural back up. This is important to me, and please take time in answering it. Thank you for your answer. justme |

2489 | Does the Lord still heal people today? | Phil 3:10 | justme | 138652
Chaser: I can state infacticly yes he does. The problem is often we pray for healing as if that was the right of us do do so. So we ask with wrong motivies. I had blood clots in my lungs last June.I was told to go home and prepare to die at anytime. I did. I also asked my Pastor to come and pray and annoint me with oil. I asked my Elders and church to pray for me to be in the direct will of the Lord. With that prayer I cannot ask the Lord for anything but what He wants for my life. This takes faith as either way the Lord answers I am not asking for anything bit what He wants. My clots were gone in 40 days and I lived with more clots than the Doctors had seen anyone recover with. I have the before and after Catscans to prove what I have said. I believe God heals today, but far more of a healing it is when someone come to Jesus seeking Him for salvation, with a repentence, and is saved once and for ever. I hope this helps, and God bless you. Have more questions? Just ask. justme |

2491 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | justme | 87988
j5962cjs: Welcome to the Forum! I am not sure who this believe is, you or someone you know. However I can speak from very personal experience, to your question. I am in raditation treatment at peresent time. I quite offen read psalm 139. There I find that the Lord knew this would be a part of my life before I was born. The Lord Almighty knows all the days we have, and God is loving and compassionately cares for me. In Romans 8, the entire chapter speaks to every issue I have in living and dealing with cancer. I pray and others as well, that my life be in the direct will of the Father. That is where I want to be, what more can I ask? I some time ago heard about a young person dealing with cance. Their thought was "yard by yard lifes to hard. Inch by inch life is a sinch". To be open, a lot of deep emotions are at the front of my thoughts. To be very honest, at times it is rather overwhelming to deal with cancer. I sometimes feel alone, and sad. There are times I have real peace, and there are times when pain and being uncomfortable physically, I wonder how I will endure to the end of treatments. I am often brought to remember verses I have comitted to memory that bring calmness to my mind and body. I tell you very openly with out my wife and her carrying much of the load and being my "wind benieth my wings" I most surely would be unable to endure this. Our children, all adults and married, and grandchildren, are big in supporting me which all helps. I believe this is much of a total picture of "How to walk in peace". I sincerly hope this helps you, and that you can gleam some peace from my life experience. Blessings and Peace. justne |

2492 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | justme | 88033
prazn: Dealing with a chronic illness, is so much different than a some "infirmities". Chronic long term on going illness is some that lasts you whole life. Some time like in Pauls case he suffered the rest of his life. I believe that long term chronic illness is especially hard on the suffer's family. I am sure that every time someone askes hou the ill person is doing the supportive family grows weary of saying over and over aabout the same. I add that few churches able to minister to the person or the family of a chronic ill person and their family as this takes an enormus effort in being supportive. This situation is in reality long term hospice. This person and family drain emotional and spiritual energy form the church. Quite often chronicly ill people are depressed and not easy to minister to. The family too suffer every bit as much as the ill one. I wanted to give you some added insight that might not of otherwise have been brought up. I wonder if you have any additional thoughts or comments. justme |

prazn: I am concerned that "healing" has been so distorted by the Word of Faith movement, that many are asking for healings out of selfish and dangerious motives. We live in a world of instant everything. "I want it now" is the physical and spiritual demand of many Christians. What right to we have to not expect suffering? If the Lord does heal fine if not then as Paul said to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord. Which do you see as better? I see Christians pray and expect an answer right now! What about persistance, and letting the Lord accomplish His will. The Lord is not a sugar daddy that doels out answers based on our demands. Yes, nothing is impossible for him who believes" but it goes only as far as we are in His direct will. Would you not agree? I have never heard of one single "healing" by these WOF fake healers, being able to be proved by any medical team. I have never heard of amy one going into a cancer word and start healing any of these people, have you? I am very opomistic of people being healed with out concrete verifiable evidence. I have heard some say they were healed of some illness, and to die shortly after. Was their faith not strong enough? This kind of healing has the fir on my neck stand up. For example Benny Hinn is the biggest fake there is! Yet every where he goes ignorant believers who DO NOT know Scriptur fall into this demon indwelt son of the devil Benny Hinn. Why? He is one of many who appeal to "instantly got to have it now" ignorant Christians. I am not saying healing does not happen. I believe in James the last chapter tells us how to go about seeking healing. Then if there is a ture physical healin of the flesh, the healing can beverified by the people who anointed and prayed for the ill person. Your thoughts? Peace. justme |

2494 | How do u stay pure but have pleasure | Phil 4:8 | justme | 56598
Markarios: When I see these type of questions, I wonder if they are not better answered by a mature Christian woman. We do have several in the forum. There is some reason she was seeking an answer that was, I think, wanting not so much a Biblical line of verses but more technical down to earth solutions to her wanting to be pure, yet to relieve herself of sexual frustration. I do not think we as men can adaquitly answer that. You must surely see she was asking for more than you answered. Don't you agree. My view, when it comes to sexual questions it is best handled by those of the same sex. Just thought I would share my feelings onthis kind of advice. I think it is worth your consideration. agape, justme |

Tiffinay: I think these kind of questions are better aksked to be answered by a mature Christian woman. Perhaps you might ask for responce only from women. Men think differently, and I do not believe you wanted a number of verses just to read. You have a valid question, which I believe you want a practicle answer. Look up at the right of your screenm it says search word(s) type in words that relate to your question, it should help, or restsate your question and ask for female responces only, please. These suggestions might be more help. agape, justme |

2496 | Pre-marital Sex and Church Leadership | Colossians | justme | 174484
JQP: The sad facts are that Christians are about the same as the unsaved world is when it comes to sex, divorce, living together, going to bars, and most other forms of sin. If we asked every person in ministry to resign if any of these sins occured before becoming a minister, there most likely would be a lot od positions empty. Best to concern ourselves with minding our own lives very carefully, and praying for our outher Christians. Justme |

RWC. I checked a commentary and it suggested that Paul felt a "spiritual oneness" with them. Paul is saying "solid front" "orderly" "firm" are indicated in Paul's affection with them. I could find no meaning to indicate anything else. You have brought a good question that got me to do some more research which I really like to do. Blessings. justme |

2499 | how to be baptize'd do you need holy | Col 2:12 | justme | 56982
Makarios: I agree with your answerto ptimpalsix@aol.com (wow I am glad I don't have to say that mouth full) Maybe we might suggest a better name. Except I do think method is important.Immerison is as you said the Biblical method. Most churches that sprinkle accept infant baptism . Which I fins no Biblical grounds for. I have sprinkled a woman who was very near death, and there was no alternative. I amglad you said what you did about the holy spirit.
