They all acted according to God's will and the fulfillment of Scripture. John 18:8 ".......If therefore ye seek me, Let these go their way." It was Peter who made an oath. It was Peter who's reject of Jesus was manifested. That is not to say the other 10, MAY HAVE BEEN cowardly. But that is best left to God. To God be the Glory!

The One that is right. And what is right, agree. If Kalos is right then he will judge me in the Last Day. That sounds more to me like I am banging my own head, If he is correct. I understand that you are trying to preserve Peace. But the Scripture did say as much as lies within you. And when someone use a Scripture on me out of context. Then Its, right, that I reproof him with one that is in it context.

After reading through the posts. You could have been agreeing with me. And not disagreeing, about Jesus not baptizing with water. I seem to have been, too defensive. My apology, once again.
128 | Why do they prey for the deads salvation | 1 Cor 3:15 | jcsav | 143478
EdB the books I used was required reading at a Bible College. I know people that work there. I will make sure they update these material if they have not already done so. Being careful with internet material is always wise, that is why I like books. At least the book that I had, did say that they was still (at that time putting together material from the scrolls. Thanks again.
129 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143475
My apology, now I understand When I told Lionheart, "I agree with you on your study." I was speaking of this understanding of how a word differs in usage of text. I have said the exact same thing to you. I did not mean that he had the right understanding on how the word Fear-Deilos was used in the text Mat 8:26 and MK 4:40. So, instead of correcting him. I just used his lack of understanding of these text to prove a point. My lack of correcting him lead you to believe I agreed with him. I did however, explain the difference in the texts to you. As for post 143215. When Peter said he did not know Christ. Even though you do not find the Word deilos. The meaning of the Text is the same. Peter action showed him to be afraid-deilos as it is applyed in Rev. not Mt and Mk.where they had faith though it was little. And when I say, Lord forgave him. Let me put it another way. Are you saying Jesus did not. |

131 | Why do they prey for the deads salvation | 1 Cor 3:15 | jcsav | 143468
Thank you, very much. I feel as you do about the apologetics. I am not trying to prove anything. But, there is nothing wrong with knowledge.
132 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143463
As also in all epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstale wrest as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2Peter 3:16 KJV
133 | jcsav,The gift of the Spirit preaching? | Acts 2:14 | jcsav | 143461
If your Gospel be true, you are right. If my Gospel be true. Then the Gospel is hid to the lost. But I tell you this. Both of us, can not be right. If I am a liar then you All will be able to rise in judgement against me, in the last day. Because you have preached to me the gospel and I did not believe.
134 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143418
You are mistaken. Give me the ID# in which I mentioned fear as Mat 8:23-27, Mark 4:37-41. Someone else brought up these Scriptures in reponse to my Rev. 21:8's use of the word. I only tried to show the difference in how the meaning of "fear" changes in differnt Text even though the meaning of the word itself remain the same. If you want to be right that badly. ok. This is going down the same line as, When you said, the Scripture says Jesus baptized (water).
135 | Why do they prey for the deads salvation | 1 Cor 3:15 | jcsav | 143416
EdB, where did you get your information. That the Apocryphal book was found along with Old Testament Books in the Dead Sea Scrolls? Book and Author, Please. My source says all but one Book of the Old Testament was found and that was Esther. And none of the Apocryphal. This was copyrighted 1990. Have there been new informantion released after that time?
136 | Why do they prey for the deads salvation | 1 Cor 3:15 | jcsav | 143408
Jerome, who translated the Apocryphal books into Latin, explicitly said they were non-canonical. Is he Bias too. Only two ancient councils and those not widely authoritative approved the Apocrypha. A later one was the Roman Catholic Council of Trent in 1545. Paul acknowledges that God gave the oracles to the Jews and the Jews do not canon the Apocrypha. No where do God take that away from them. Saved or not.
137 | jcsav,The gift of the Spirit preaching? | Acts 2:14 | jcsav | 143402
That is not what I said and you know it. ALL THE APOSTOLES SPOKE IN TONGUES. You can to if you Obey God and stop fighting him.
138 | jcsav, Was it Peter alone who was afraid | Matt 8:26 | jcsav | 143400
No, I did not twist Scripture. You ask me what Scripture did I have in mind. One of the Scripture I mention has to do with deilos (Cowardly as it is used in Rev. 21:8) and one Peter forgivness by Jesus. Because you do not see the word "fear" in the text do not take away from the meaning of the text. Peter lied because he feared for his life so he denied Jesus. Mat 8 and Mark 4's fear(deilos) is not used in the same text as Rev's 21:8 so it do not but ones soul at risk. You do not go to hell for being afraid of a storm. You do go for denying Jesus.
139 | Why do they prey for the deads salvation | 1 Cor 3:15 | jcsav | 143386
EdB, the Apocrypha was not included in the Septuagint in the times of Christ. Christ neither any of his deciples quoted from it. And the Jewish historian, Josephus who wrote about A.D. 90. Who lived during the fall of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. says that no one had be so bold as either to add anything to them (the 22 books) or to take anything from them, or to make any changes to them; but it has become natural to all Jews, immediately and from their very birth, to esteem these books to contain divine doctrines, and to persist in them, and, if occasion be, willingly to die for them.
