442 | How to Knowing God more deeper | Romans | inmyheart | 62397
Rom 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (KJV) Hello lialia 1212, what you are looking for is called growing and maturing in the Lord. We are to seek God daily through the reading of His Word. God will take the "hard for me to understand," to easy. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is EASY and my burden is light." Matt.11:28-30. Let me encourage you to be a student of His Word 2Tim.2:15 God bless |

443 | Are some sins greater than others? | Romans | inmyheart | 65853
The law was a comprehensive whole made up of civil, moral, and ceremonial requirements. To break it at one point was to break it in its totality. Since man cannot measure up to the law's lofty demands, it brings him face to face with his sin. In marked contrast to the law, grace is God's unmerited favor. Through Christ, God provides for man what he could not provide for himself. Jesus came to pay a debt He didn't owe because man owed a debt he couldn't pay. Whether it was the Old Testament of law or the New Testament of grace, God has spoken. That in itself is an astounding and humbling reality. God was not obligated to speak. He was not our debtor. Man surely did not deserve a word from heaven. After all, we were sinful, disobedient, and at enmity with God. God has spoken with finality through His Son. It is a completed and perfect message. Nothing has to be added and nothing has to be changed. It simply has to be understood and obeyed. Matthew 22:36-40, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? "Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." |

445 | Are some sins greater than others? | Romans | inmyheart | 66893
We are under the law of liberty; it has liberty, yet it is still a law that must be obeyed and that we will be judged by at the judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10) |

446 | "My sin is no worse than [that] sin...?" | Romans | inmyheart | 66895
Henri, Thank you for responding, your reply was a blessing. When Moses came back down from the mountain and saw God's people worshipping the idol, he threw the tablets, because to break one law, was to break them all, James 2:10-11, also see verses below; Deuteronomy 9: 16, When I looked, I saw that you had sinned against the LORD your God; you had made for yourselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. You had turned aside quickly from the way that the LORD had commanded you. 17, So I took the two tablets and threw them out of my hands, breaking them to pieces before your eyes. 18, Then once again I fell prostrate before the LORD for forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water, because of all the sin you had committed, doing what was evil in the LORD's sight and so provoking him to anger. This is what you stated; "How does one respond with specificity when a person says that their sin is no worse than any other specific sin?" What seperates your relationship to God? Is it not sin? The penalty for sin in OT was death. Now that Jesus paid the penalty for our sin by the shedding of His blood, we have forgiveness through grace. Do we continue to sin? NO. We were not only made for God's Pleasure and formed for God's Family, but we were Created to Become Like Christ. As we fulfill God's will for our life, our purpose, God develops our character. Our focus is not on sin, but on becoming Christ-like. Phl 3:12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Phl 3:13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, Phl 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phl 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; Phl 3:16 however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained. NASB I pray that I hear from you soon, continue in the will of God, Ephesians 2:10. God bless |

447 | Teacher, when were the 11 rebaptized? | Romans | inmyheart | 67002
Tim, In Eph 2:8 we are told, FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD. Gal 3:2-RECEIVED YE THE SPIRIT BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW, OR BY THE HEARING OF FAITH? Gal 3:14-THAT THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM MIGHT COME ON THE GENTILES THROUGH JESUS CHRIST; THAT WE MIGHT RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF THE SPIRIT THROUGH FAITH. Eph 3:17-THAT CHRIST MAY DWELL IN YOUR HEARTS BY FAITH. We are saved by faith. Does this mean we are saved by faith without repentance? Not at all. We must repent of our sins, or there is no salvation. For it is written, EXCEPT YE REPENT, YE SHALL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH-Lk 13:3. Does this mean that we are saved by faith only, and we never need to confess Jesus publicly? Not at all. We should confess that Jesus is (the only Hope) of our salvation to everyone that asks us. If we are ashamed of Jesus, He will be ashamed of us at the judgment. So we may ask, "What about baptism?" THERE IS NO GRACE WITHOUT BELIEVING ON JESUS THERE IS NO GRACE WITHOUT REPENTANCE Is there grace without baptism? God bless |

448 | Teacher, when were the 11 rebaptized? | Romans | inmyheart | 67041
--Joe! In Acts 22:16 we read-AND NOW WHY TARRIEST THOU? ARISE, AND BE BAPTIZED, AND WASH AWAY THY SINS, CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD. Here it is clear, that water baptism after believing on Jesus is a commandment. Your below answer was all that needed to be said. I also believe that Grace motivates to be obedient to all of God's will for our lives. "Is there grace without baptism?" Of course there is. Grace motivates the believer to be baptized. God's grace is absolutely free and is not chained by our own activity or inactivity. Grace moves US to obedience; our obedience does not "let" God be gracious to us. ***************** Some churches today believe a person does not have to be baptized, while others believe it is required for salvation. Some baptize by total immersion, and others believe this is not necessary. The answer lies not in a denomination, not in the traditions of men, but in God’s Word only. Jesus warned us that the traditions of men make God’s Word of none effect. In other words, Jesus was saying, the traditions that you are doing are not from God’s Word, but are only of men; and being only of men, you are sending people to hell by your traditions. Thanks for you responce Joe! |

449 | Teacher, when were the 11 rebaptized? | Romans | inmyheart | 67053
My church sings songs that are not part of Scripture; does yours? My church celebrates Easter and Christmas; does yours? My church has pews; does yours? My church has Wednesday night services; does yours? We pass around the offering(*And Tithing) plates during the service; does your church do the same? *Don't forget, My church has baptizing every Sunday; does yours? of course, doesn't everyone! Thanks for your response! |

450 | Teacher, when were the 11 rebaptized? | Romans | inmyheart | 67109
"As in Acts, we baptize as the Lord adds to our number." Again, this is why there is baptism every Sunday! *********** By the way, how does your church handle those who have been baptized and fall into sin and then repent. Do they have to be rebaptized? To answer this would be another thread. My point is, people want to exclude being baptized after salvation, which is not true. "Thanks for your response!" You are welcome! |

451 | The Promise | Rom 1:2 | inmyheart | 53078

452 | Christians/Catholics same? | Rom 3:28 | inmyheart | 162210
How about those Catholic Jews. If a woman was caught in adultery, she was stoned to death! Now that was a little humor. There are Christians in every church, Baptist, Luthern and etc. But the bottom line they will know we are Christians by our love for each other. Dear brothers and sisters, we always thank God for you, as is right, for we are thankful that your faith is flourishing and you are all growing in love for each other. 2Thess.1:3 (NLT) Peace and Love inmyheart |

453 | what do justified mean? | Rom 5:1 | inmyheart | 70825
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Note 1 at Rom. 5:1: The word "therefore" means, "for that reason; consequently; hence." Paul had just proven through the life of Abraham that justification came by faith. He then made the statement that these truths about Abraham were not written in scripture for his sake alone, but so that we could also be justified by faith (Rom. 4:23-24). So, having established justification by faith, he now moves on to some of the benefits of being justified by faith instead of works. Note 2 at Rom. 5:1: The first benefit of being justified by faith instead of works that Paul mentions is peace. Peace can only come when we relate to God on the basis of faith in what He did for us instead of what we do for Him. A person who is thinking that he must perform up to some standard to be accepted with God will have no peace. That puts the burden of salvation on our shoulders and we can't bear that load. We were incapable of living holy enough to please God before we were saved and we are incapable of living holy enough to please God now that we are saved (Heb. 11:6). We got saved by faith and we have to continue to walk with God by faith (Col. 2:6). Not understanding this has caused many Christians who love God to not enjoy the peace that was provided them through faith in Jesus. This is the gospel of peace (Lk. 2:14; Rom. 10:15; Eph. 6:15). God bless |

454 | Did God create "EVIL"? | Rom 5:12 | inmyheart | 65845
zerotheory God had existed in eternity; time itself has been created by him. This means that before the creation of the universe, God had existed alone. And since Scripture teaches that there is no evil in God, the question arises as to "the source and origin of evil." We cannot say that God himself, although there is no evil in him, committed evil; Scripture denies this possibility. James 1:16-17 tells us, "Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." If God is the source of "every good and perfect gift," and "does not change," it means that he does not perform anything other than that which is good. An answer consistent with the biblical data would be that God had created creatures with the ability to choose, although he possessed complete control over even their wills, and that it was good for him to have done so. But these creatures, by God's good sovereign decree, decided to make choices that were contrary to the goodness of God, and therefore resulted in evil. We must insist, contrary to the "free will" of humanism, that God did not merely "permit" evil, but he decreed it; otherwise, it could not have originated. Now, the Bible says that if there is no moral law, there would be no sin. Therefore, sin is a transgression of the moral law. Since the moral law states that which is good, evil is thus a deviation from objective goodness, and is therefore not really a thing in itself. What follows from this is that goodness can exist without evil, but evil cannot exist without objective goodness. If evil, as it seems, is an "ought not," then it cannot exist without an "ought." It is possible for there to be an objective standard of goodness without any deviation from it, but it is not possible for there to be a deviation from goodness if the goodness itself is undefined or non-existent. For example, it is conceivable to have a speed limit without anyone violating it, but it is impossible to violate the speed limit if there is no such thing. Likewise, it is only possible for there to be evil if there is good, but it is possible for there to be good without the existence of evil. God does not need Satan to define him. Evil indeed exists, but not as a thing in itself; rather, it is a deviation from the good. This does not mean that evil is an illusion, as some non-Christian systems of thought assert, but that it does not have independent and objective existence, as is the case with goodness. In brief, goodness is defined by the word of God, and evil is in turn defined by (the deviation from) goodness. What God says is good, is good; what deviates or contradicts what he says is evil. Did this help you? God bless! |

456 | Difference between sin and sins? | Rom 5:12 | inmyheart | 74670
Sin is a disease The first man, Adam, acquired the disease It was acquired by Adam through the forbidden fruit The fruit presumably contained some infective agent This agent has two effects: (1) It initiated a process of decay which introduced physical death into human experience. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin...and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (Rom. 5:12). (2) Sin causes physical death. Until Adam ate the forbidden fruit and introdcued this poison into his body, he was not subject to physical death. The day he ate it he became a dying creature, though the process took almost a thousand years to complete. The life span of his descendants was steadily reduced as the effects of the poison became cumulative. Sins are Symptoms of the disease All men now inherit this disease. It is inherited by Adam's descendants through natural generation. The infective agent appears to be passed on through the male seed. Man is inevitably a sinner because he is constitutionally diseased. (2) It effectually marred human behavior, making all men sinful by nature and Spiritually dead. For by one man's disobedience many were made sinners...(Rom. 5:19). Sins cause spiritual death. Although every man begins life as a mortal creature, spiritual death occurs only when one becomes accountable for his behavior. It is not sin, but sins, which break our communion with God. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2) I end this post with "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, look, the Lamb of God, who takes the "sin" of the world." John 1:29 (NIV). God bless |

457 | Difference between sin and sins? | Rom 5:12 | inmyheart | 74734
Hank-- Sin, is a disease of the soul. Like leprosy or cancer SIN slowly eats away until it kills. Like these diseases, some people succumb in a few short years. Others individuals it takes decades. Sin even after a lifetime may not be "That Bad' or "Criminal" but all have come short of the Glory of God. Again, like Cancer, It cares not how good you've been, what you've done or who you are or even how religious you've been. Sin without a cure will destroy your soul. Yes, there is great hope as indicated in Rom. 6:23- "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". God has the cure for disease. He sent his son Jesus Christ. Through trusting in the word of God and having faith that Jesus is Son of God, we begin to repair the Damage sin has done to our lives. Rom 5:17-19 (KJV) 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. YES, there is a cure for the disease! God did provide the medicine. God bless |

458 | When does newness of life start? | Rom 6:4 | inmyheart | 56303
Tell that to the thief who died on the cross w/Jesus! Come on, be real, Life starts when you confess your sins and ask Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior. The day I invited Jesus into my life, He added my name into the book of Life, not the book of Baptism! God Bless, yes I'm baptized! :) |

459 | When does newness of life start? | Rom 6:4 | inmyheart | 56313
Praise God for your faithfulness in studying the Word of God. John 3:5 Jesus responds to Nicodemus question from verse 4, Jesus reply to him shatters the Jewish assuption that their racial identity (old birth) assured them a place in God's Kingdom. The Jews were looking for the Messiah to bring in a new world in which Jews would be pre-eminet. But Jesus came to bring new life, in which "HE" would be preeminent. Yes, I believe that we should be obident to God's command to be baptized, to bury that old nature to walk anew in the Spirit, for we walk by faith and not by sight. Is it a requirement to be baptized to be saved? No. Should you be obident to God and be baptized, yes. God Bless |

460 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | inmyheart | 56410
"This is love for God: to obey His commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who belives that Jesus is the Son of God." 1 John 5:3-5 (NIV) In the world I never obeyed anyone or anything. And I reaped the benefits of doing so. God speaks to me through His Word, that His commands are not burdensome, and by being obedient I become an overcomer. I already know the what if's, and its consequences, Now I'm "doing" and receiving His blessings. I like what is written in Romans 12:2, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." (NIV) You made that first step, Now go all the way, and come out of that, "what if" and be transformed by the renewing of your mind. God bless |
