503 | IS TONGUES FOR TODAY? | 1 Cor 14:5 | inmyheart | 54780
Searcher, Greetings, and thank you for your response, however, as I had mentioned in my post that this has been a well debated topic. The poster asked, "these people believe they get tongues by faith. What is the answer?" I have given my answer to the best of my ability. I agree with you, not everyone will be given the gift of tongues....only the ones who ask in faith. Can a person be saved by not being baptized or not speaking in tongues? This to has been a well debated topic, and my belief is yes. I want to be on the receiving end when it comes to gifts, and if tongues in one of them, then so be it. God bless |

504 | IS TONGUES FOR TODAY? | 1 Cor 14:5 | inmyheart | 54679
This topic has been well debated. However :) everything we do we do in faith. When we pray we pray in faith, when we walk, we walk in faith and when we ask for Spiritual gifts, we ask in faith, read Luke 11:13. Acts 19:2-6(NIV), and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spririt when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." So Paul asked, "Then what baptisim did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus. On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, AND THEY SPOKE IN TONGUES and prophesied. What is the answer? In Luke 11:13, you ASK. In Acts 19:2-6, by LAYING ON OF HANDS. God bless |

505 | What is Mormon relation w/Jesus? | John 5:18 | inmyheart | 54634
Greetings Norrie, You should be refreshed :) I pray that you had a blessed time. I was just reading Matthew 7, let me quote from verses 21-23; "Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is is heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evil-doers! 1 John 4:1-6, is also a good reference. I am not familiar with any other religions :) They can pray over their food all they want in The Name of Jesus, but it will be meanningless if they don't know the Savior. Was this a compromise for your cousin? Or did your cousin compromise! Keep praying for your cousin situation, with God all things are possible. Once again, welcome back and God bless you |

506 | "What is the Spirit saying to you? | Gal 4:6 | inmyheart | 54570
Greetings, Hello Brother Ray! Yes to all of the above. The scriptures that I refer to was Genesis 1:26-31. I have often heard people (Christians) refer to God as "daddy," and at first this seemed alright with me, because Abba, after all means Father. However, this began to trouble me. This was too impersonal, meaning, I honor my earthly father, but my Heavenly Father holds a much higher Honor. So after researching I concluded that Abba is a title [Father] and not a name [daddy]. I went to the Blue letter Bible and searched in the greek (Strong's) and entered #3962. Here I found the info that I needed :) When God created (Produced) man in Genesis 1:27, He also gave every seed-bearing plant (Provider) in Genesis 1:29. God places man in the garden (Sustainer) in Genesis 2:8. We are created in His image, the children we produce, we should provide for and sustain, as God did for man! By saying, "Abba, Father" He is telling us of Himself, The Creator [Producer], in our relationship, through prayer, He is the Father as spoken of in Matthew 6:9. Now my friend, may I ask you, what were you thinking of when you posted this question? Thank you for responding, and continue to be a blessing to others. God bless you! |

507 | 1st Cor14:34,35 | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 54306
Women shouldn't be judging prophecy or disrupting meetings. Paul has already assured the right of women to pray or prophecy publicly (1Corinthians 11:1-6), here he is probably emphasing the right of women to judge prophecy, something restricted to the male leadership of the church. As well, women (or men for that matter) shouldn't be disrupting meetings with questions or chatter. God Bless |

508 | why did god decide to create a woman | Genesis | inmyheart | 54304
justme, Genesis 2:15, The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden (why?) to "work" it and "take care" of it. Or we can look how God created ("work") man, and how He "took care" of man by putting him in the Garden. When God saw man "working" and that he could "take care" of his work, God said "it's not good that, "that" man be alone. When God saw man was responsible to "work" and to "take care" of the Garden, he would "work" at a relationship and "take care" of the woman :) When God sees a man not "working" and not "taking care" of anything, God says it's good that, "that" man should be alone! :) God bless |

515 | should you pray to god or jesus/ | Rom 10:13 | inmyheart | 54156
When I was a child, I prayed to God. Later in life, I found out that Jesus was my Lord and Savior, and being confused, began praying to God and Jesus. Still later, I learned a little about the Holy Spirits' role in the God head and rather than leave anyone out, I prayed to all of them, still not completely sure of what I was 'supposed' to be doing. Then I got back to basics, and believed that if the word of God said it...it is good enough for me. I went back to example prayer that Jesus taught His disciples: Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven...This is WHO you are to pray to, your heavenly Father. He is the most loving of fathers; kind, gentle, friendly, interested in your life and, wants to hear all about it. He wants to hear how you feel, everything...your joys and frustrations, even all your secrets that you cannot tell anyone else. He has all the time that there is, enjoys your confidence and trust in Him and enjoys just listening to the voice of His little child. And from here there is a break down of that prayer, upon your request, I would be happy to post it. God Bless |

518 | What is God's will for you? | John 1:1 | inmyheart | 54144
Timothy Paul, I enjoyed your revelation of Psalm 119:105, and thank you for your kind response. Actually there are many good answers concerning God's will, however many over look that the Bible is indeed the Will of God. This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is Light; IN Him there is no darkness at all. 1John 1:5 (NIV) God bless |
