441 | Why did Jesus at some times, after doin | Matt 12:41 | ebrain | 163106
Read Matthew 12:22-32,and you will see that He was rejected by the Leaders of the Nation, up to that point He had clearly indicated to all that He was indeed their prommised Messiah. After they had rejected Him, and had even said that He was working for the Devil, He withdrew His offer, and told His disciples to tell no one who He was. That is the reason for His change of attitude to the Jewish Leaders. |

442 | What is the definition of salvation? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 162980
Salvation is the process by which the Lord our God intervenes into the life of a person, to enable that individual to accept God's way/method of saving him/her from the consequences of remaining unsaved, ie eternal damnation, going to Hell. This is the short answer, I am not able at the moment, due to time constraints to give a more detailed one. |

443 | if you are saved are you always saved? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 162936
It is clear from Scripture that the Lord does not save everyone, but in fact only a few (Matt 7:14). In John 6:65, it is written "no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father". Are you saying in fact that God grants salvation to persons that He knows in advance will loose it? That He is not able to do what He says He is able to do at Jude v 24? |

Sorry I omitted to say that "glorified" is found at Rom 8:30. Every blessing. Edwin Brain. |

446 | if you are saved are you always saved? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 162875
Jesus said(John 6:39)that his Father's will was that he Jesus "should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day" (ESV). Now let me ask you two questions, 1. Do you consider that you are a part of "all that he has given me",and 2. Is the Lord Jesus able to carry out His Fathers will? If you are able to answer yes to both questions, then you may rest asured that "once saved allways saved", is a fact. Remember it is Jesus, not you who must not lose your salvation. Read Colossians 3:1-3, and tell me how you can lose what is "hidden with Christ in God"?, and why is "glorified" written in the past tense, when it has not so far happened?. Well from the Divine view point in eternity is has allready happened, don't try to understand it, Just take God at His word, and believe Him. I have many more verses that support OSAS, if you want them, then just ask, however, I feel that the above should be enough, and don't worry about Heb 6:4-6, Scripture does not disagree with itself. |

447 | How does the verse help Paul's argument | 1 Cor 6:16 | ebrain | 162258
I would have thought v 15 would have made that crystal clear. As a Christian indwelt by the Holy Spirit who will never leave you, how can you possibly oblige Him to become one flesh with a prostitute, it is unthinkable. |

448 | Questions friend has asked | Rom 8:29 | ebrain | 162101
Conversion to accepting God at His word is due entirely to direct Divine intervention into the life of the person concerened, and has nothing whatsoever to do with human debate using logic, and reason. See also Mat 16:17, "flesh and blood has not revealed it to you,but my Father who is in heaven", and 1st Cor 2:14, "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned". |

452 | Where in verses is Jesus God | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 162074
May I also add Isaiah Ch 48 v 16, and Isaiah Ch 6 vs 1-5, with John Ch 12 vs 37-41, and of course the three claims to be "I AM" found in the 8th chapter of John, at vs 24, 28, and 58. note "he" is not found in the original Greek.
453 | pls. explain john 14:21 | 2 Pet 1:4 | ebrain | 162065
What our Lord Jesus was speaking of was the soon to come indwelling of belivers by the Holy Spirit. In 2nd Peter 1:4. you are said to be "partakers of the Divine nature", whereas in Col 1:27 it is "Christ in you, the hope of glory". Another translation of John 14:21, is "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him". |

454 | Yes, I agree. Here's what I understand: | Prov 28:9 | ebrain | 162043
Thank you Eliyahu for your post, and for your invitation to give my opinion. Without question the biggest single problem that the Church has is an abysmal lack of good quality in depth Bible teaching, the second problem is, if anything even worse, as the majority of Christians are not even aware of this. Fortunatly thank God, there is as allways that small number, that little remnant who do hunger, and thirst after right teaching. I only have the use of one hand, and am a rather slow single finger typist, if you would be kind enough to let me have your e-mail address, then I will be only to happy to forward to you material in connection with your request. May the Lord bless you, and keep you safe. Edwin Brain. pabrain@indent.co.uk |

455 | Is Jesus a role model for us? | Hebrews | ebrain | 161984
Yes indeed He is a role model for you, I suggest you read the following verses. Phil 2:5-13, also John 1:18. 5:19,and 30. 7:16-17. 11:41b-42. 14:9-11, but especially v 10. Acts 2:22. See how He did it, and you will see how you also can do it. "Not My will, but Thine be done". Matt 11:27-30. is you will find also helpfull. Remember we are looking here at the true Humanity, and not the Deity of Jesus, He is showing us how man is intended to behave in respect of, and towards God. Please feel free to write to me direct, if you would like to do so, I can be contacted at pabrain@indent.co.uk May the Lord bless you abundantly, and keep you safe. Edwin Brain. |

What does it matter who wrote it, do not regard the clay vessel, but rather the treasure within.
457 | 1 Samuel 15:3 - a loving God? | Ps 115:3 | ebrain | 161980
Do you feel the same about the Flood, or the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah or the Great Tribulation still to come? How can you loose your faith, when He who made you, laid down His life for you, and did not use one iota of his limitless power to avoid death by one of the most excruciatingly painfull death's known to man?. You may not understand why He did what He did at the verse you quote, but how can you doubt a Person of such unshakeable integrity, as the one who went through what He went through to to save you from Eternal Hell? |

458 | Torah observance in the church?? | Prov 28:9 | ebrain | 161977
Keeping the Torah is usually understood to mean keeping the law, however, Romans 10:4, tells us that "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness". This in my opinion does not refer to the moral law, but only to the ceremonial law, see also Romans 2:15, 4:13, 4:16, and 8:3. For example, circumcision is no longer required, but, one man with one woman to the exclusion of all others untill death, is still required. You might find it helpfull to read Matt Ch's 5, 6, and 7, where our Lord says at Matt 5:17.(Amplified) that He did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it, or more precisely to be the fulfillment of it. |
||||||
459 | No need to keep the ceremonial law | Rom 10:4 | ebrain | 161971
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness As above, See also Rom 2:15, 4:13, 4:16, and 8:3. I do hope that this is of help, God bless you. |

460 | Is the name Christian being ridiculed? | James 2:5 | ebrain | 161688
My understanding also is that the word Christian was used by Jews, and other none Christians as a term of contempt to describe the followers of Jesus. Belivers in the early days of the Church called themselves "the way". |
