3 | Jesus didn't know what to say | Mark 9:6 | brenda_L | 174939
It wasn't Jesus who didn't know what to say. It was Peter. 5Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." 6(He [Peter] did not know what to say, they [Peter, James and John] were so frightened.) |

Hi Mark, Thanks for clarifying that. I'm not one to check up on the original greek or hebrews words, so it's nice that you could tell me that. bren |

7 | is the mark of the Beast in our minds? | Rev 14:9 | brenda_L | 169812
I met a few people in forums who believe that it is in the forehead. And I think I know why (someone correct me if I am wrong). The KJV reads it as IN the forehead...while other translations (like NIV) read ON the forehead. So I can see how they would think it is IN the mind, and not a mark ON your forehead. I know someone had asked me once 'How can a mark be IN your forehead?' At least that's what I believe one of the explanations could be. |

8 | Wifes dutie to her husband | Bible general Archive 3 | brenda_L | 165964
Read Ephesians 5:22-33 also, you might want to check out http://www.carm.org/devotions/marriage.htm "But what of the wife? What is her responsibility in marriage? It is simple. She is to respect, honor, and support her husband (Eph. 5:33). She is to encourage him to be the leader. She is to not undermine his position has head. This means that wives should not show him disrespect by speaking ill of him behind his back to anyone else. In addition, though many women will not like it, the woman's primary responsibility is to take care of the home (Tit. 2:3-5) and to make it a suitable place for the family to dwell as she aids her husband and nurtures the children (1 Thess. 2:7) with love (Tit. 2:4)." |

9 | Watch out that no one deceives you.... | 2 Tim 2:15 | brenda_L | 164942
"Her statement implies we can't find the answers in the bible?" exactly! I thought about that right after I submitted my question (all these things were going off in my head saying *warning-warning*-if you know what I mean). She was told to write a book...but we already have THE Book. Thanks so much for your reply. MUCH appreciated. (btw, I caught the link to that page on another Bible forum I visit) |

10 | Watch out that no one deceives you.... | Not Specified | brenda_L | 164896
Matthew 24:4-5 says: 4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[a]' and will deceive many. Now I came across this website where this woman claims to have been taken to hell by Jesus. She says he took her there and showed her that there really is a hell and she was to warn people about it. She was told to write a book about it. Here is the site: http://www.spiritlessons.com/Mary_K_Baxter_A_Divine_Revelation_of_Hell.htm Now personally I believe in hell, but after reading what she said it just seemed wrong to me. I thought back to Matthew 24 and other things I've read in the Bible. I am almost positive that I've read somewhere in scripture that states not to believe ANYONE who claims to be the Christ, for he would return in the clouds and we would definately know it was him (rapture?). Where is that verse? Now, concerning that site and scripture, doesn't this mean that that was a false Christ? I can't help but think of Saul's conversion (didn't he see Jesus? OR was it just a bright kind of light and his voice?). What other verses talk about this subject??? |

I, too, want to know what his true name is. (confession- I had a hard time with that page (soo much info, and I guess I am being impatient) so I haven't read it word for word.) |

16 | why satan wasn't dealt with right away? | Not Specified | brenda_L | 164268
My husband asked me something I didn't know how to answer. I was hoping someone here might be able to help. When satan and the angels were thrown out of heaven, why didn't God deal with them then? Why wait? Why just throw him out of heaven and not into hell? This was the question he asked me...and I didn't know what to say. I remember reading scripture of how he was thrown down...about how he wanted to be like God and take over, but I don't remember ever reading anything about anything else (?). IS there anything in the bible saying why he was 'just' thrown down and not dealt with RIGHT AWAY? Or anything else that might help answer this question? Or any thoughts on this? I don't know what to tell him (hubby). |
