2041 | Animals in the New Testament? | Prov 12:12 | azurelaw | 187508
Dear gkidder, Thanks for your feedback to my previous post. I too, like you, don't trust people who don't have a love of animals. However, if this is your perception on me that I don't love animal just base on my statement "I would even say that it is wrong to pay too much attention or care to pets instead of caring people around you." I am afraid you have drawn your conclusion too early. However, since this is a study bible forum, the discussion about animal abuse or similar issue might not be appropriate. Nevertheless, my last opinion is that keeping pets and caring them nicely at home for your own good feeling does not mean that you love them. Dressing them up like sweetie dollies, taking them to the animal salons are another way of animal abuse. Animals belong to the wild nature NOT being kept at home as PETS. Shalom Azure |

2042 | Animals in the New Testament? | Prov 12:12 | azurelaw | 187417
Dear MWLaine, After reading your posts regarding the way people treat their pets nowadays, I love to share a bit of my experience when I was a teen. We had 2 cats as our pets for my younger sister and I. We loved them very much and expressed our care for them more than caring for our mother. My mom always complained us about that. After I grew up and looked back, I really understand how my mom felt about us by that time. I understand that we made our pets our idols. Therefore, I would even say that it is wrong to pay too much attention or care to pets instead of caring people around you. Shalom Azure |

2045 | gifts of Healing and Miracles for today. | 1 Cor 12:9 | azurelaw | 187239
Dear CDBJ, I agree. In addition, I would like to quote James 5:14-15 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in FAITH will restore the one who is sick, and the LORD will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. 2046 | Why is it not relevant today? | Matt 12:31 | azurelaw | 186944
Dear Psalm 25, Welcome to the forum. Thanks for this clear explanation. I learned a lot. May I also add that (my own opinion) Jesus' claim of the statement that the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unpardonable is totally out of His mercy and love for such blasphemy cannot be duplicated today. Our Lord spare us from this unpardonable sin, but grant us His patience and chances for the unbelieve to convert. Shalom Azure |

2049 | Request for lyrics | Not Specified | azurelaw | 186783
A week ago, I watched a film in HK called "The pursuit of happiness". There was a scene that the main character attended a service at church where a choir was singing something like : Lord, a mountain is in front of me. Please O Lord, don't remove the mountain, don't remove the mountain. But to give me strength to cross it. I like the lyrics. It is encouraging, for most of the time our fist reaction in face of difficulties will be running away. Can anyone provide the full lyrics of the song or the source for me to access it (if it violates the copyright regulation)? In order not to violate the terms of use of Lockman, I have the below quote of scripture: Matt 17:20 And He *said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. Thanks for your help. Shalom Azure |

Kill anger before it kills you or your marriage “Remember that God will vindicate your just cause and settle all accounts better than you could. Either your offender will pay in hell, or Christ has paid for him. Your payback would be DOUBLE JEOPARDY or an OFFENCE to the CROSS.” - By John Piper Roman 12:19 1 Peter 2:23 |

2052 | An audible voice proves one is saved? | Matt 7:21 | azurelaw | 186602
Is 65:1 "I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, 'Here am I, here am I,' To a nation which did not call on My name. Is 65:2 "I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts, Jer 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me WITH ALL YOUR HEART. Dear Looking, May I suggest that you SINCERELY read what Doc has commended if you are truly seeking the truth for yourself. If you are curious about the issue for a third party while you yourself are not sincere to tackle your own, I would like to propose the below scriptures for you: John 21:21 So Peter seeing him *said to Jesus, "Lord, and what about this man?" John 21:22 Jesus *said to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, WHAT IS THAT TO YOU? YOU FOLLOW ME!" May God bless you and enlight you with His Words Shalom Azure |

2055 | Is lifestyle change proof of salvation? | Matt 7:21 | azurelaw | 186530
Jesus said: John 10:27-29 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand" v29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. Dear Looking..., I am not sure whether you think the above verses directly answer to your questions, however, I would hope that these verses can shed some lights on your doubts. Ask yourself: Do I know His voice? Do I follow Him? Yes, we do fall away at times in our trials. However, I remember a story told by a pastor long time ago. He said that when the shepherd find a certain sheep too naughty and always goes astray that risk its life to the wild animals, he will use his staff to beat and break the sheep's leg. So that the sheep cannot walk and the shepherd will lovingly carry the sheep in his bossom and care for it dearly until it recovers. The sheep being punished will never do the same foolish thing for it is really painful for the punishment. Shalom Azure |

2057 | Die unexposed to Jesus no redemption? | Eph 1:5 | azurelaw | 186431
An echo to Rom 1:19-20 with a Chinese perspective May I add a little bit of my thought (though I am not an expert). The English word "righteousness" is expressed and developed into Chinese by using "pictograph" and "meaning borrowing words". Perhaps some of you may already knew that Chinese originally develop words with "pictograph". A very simple example is the Chinese word meaning day. Ancient Chinese drew a circle representing the sun and put a dot in the centre. Then we have the word "day" in Chinese. For the English "righteousness", this Chinese word is composed of the upper and the lower part. The upper part was developed from the "drawing of a lamb with fire burning underneath" - this symbolizes the meaning of sacrifice (now, you see how it represents the work of our dear Jesus, though the ancient Chinese did not know Jesus). The lower part is the Chinese word means "I". Therefore, the interperation is that by the sacrificing of the Lamb, we (I am) are able to be called righteous. So, we can see before the gospel was spread to China, God has used His own way to reveal Himself to different nations in the ancient time. Shalom Azure |

2059 | Remarriage of a christian | Rom 7:2 | azurelaw | 185280
Dear Apollos, Thanks for your answer. The scripture you cited has been well understood. My question is on the part which said "God only PUTS MUCH WEIGHT ON THE FIRST MARRIAGE than the second regardless of the reason of the failure of the first marriage." Did you think of any scriptural support on this? Shalom Azure |

2060 | Remarriage of a christian | Not Specified | azurelaw | 185276
Today I have a nice chat with my sister-in-law. One of the topics we have come across is "re-marrying" of a widow or a divorced christian. She said that God only puts much weight on the first marriage than the second regardless of the reason of the failure of the first marriage. I find it doubtful and I also cannot recall any scriptural support for her such comment. Can anyone help? Shalom Azure |
