1542 | In desperate need. | Heb 11:1 | azurelaw | 198514
Dear LJ777, I can empathize with you. However, I am afraid it is unlikely that your problem can be dealt with properly through this media - a study bible forum. Are you attending church? I would strongly suggest that you seek help from your pastor and some faithful and trustworthy brothers and sisters. Ask them to pray with you as well. You are in my prayers, too. Shalom Azure |

1547 | adultery | Matt 5:28 | azurelaw | 198491
Dear jesus1km, YES !!! VERY SAD to know about your dangerous situation. You are in great temptation. Please STOP your relationship. You will hurt all parties involved and it does not glorify our Lord. Earnestly pray for yourself, pray for your friend and pray for his wife, too. Focus on God and His Word, not your own lust nor man. Talk to your pastor or some mature Christians whom you trust. Shalom Azure |

1549 | God sought Moses to kill him | Ex 4:24 | azurelaw | 198374
Dear Doc, I have also heard of similar assertion before concerning the good and evil. With the explanation of Jonathan Edwards which you have put as arguably, I would like to ask for further comments (if possible). How should we understand the situation base on JE's notion in the Eden before the fall of Adam and Eve as per the below : 1/ If Eden was in perfect condition and absent from evil, then the knowledge of God and their happiness would be imperfect. 2/ Could the complete knowledge (the forbidden tree of knowledge) of God be restricted for the perfect hapiness of human (not only to test their obedience)? Did I make my questions clear? Hope to learn more. Thanks. Shalom Azure |

1550 | How did God repopulate water creatures? | Gen 6:7 | azurelaw | 198359
Dear Ready, Gen 1:2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the WATERS. Gen 1:9 Then God said, "Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so. Gen 1:10 God called THE DRY LAND EARTH, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good. Gen 7:4 ...and I will blot out from the FACE OF THE LAND every living thing that I have made." Gen 7:34 Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the FACE OF THE LAND, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky... So, base on the scriptures above, it does not support that the creatures in water were destroyed. This is just my 2 cents. I am open to biblical correction. Shalom Azure |

1551 | How did God repopulate water creatures? | Gen 6:7 | azurelaw | 198345
Dear Readybunch, Welcome to the forum. In Gen chapter 6, there is no mention about the God destroying creatures in WATER, but flesh found on earth including birds. Can you show me the verse indicating water creatures are included? Shalom Azure |

1553 | Slipped Faith.. | John 15:5 | azurelaw | 198280
Dear pianoman, I wanted to welcome you to the forum, but I cannot for you are under age according to the terms of use of the forum. I would like to offer you John 15:5 to meditate on it. You better start with verse 1. Please also read Psalm chapter 1. 1/ This is a study bible forum. We hold God's Word as the ultimate authority. If it is as what you describe yourself as agnostic and not reading the bible, what do you expect from a study bible forum? 2/ Are you a believer? It's a kind of confusing that while you said that you are serving 3 worship teams on one hand, you mention yourself as agnostic on the other. I would urge you to talk to your pastor. 3/ If you want to find out the truth, you must read the Bible, talk to your pastor and pray for the enlightenment from the Holy Spirit. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2 Tim 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. Shalom Azure |

1557 | Commentary on Luke 4:1-13 | Luke | azurelaw | 198224
Grace be with you dear Grace7044. Congratulations, you are the first one who post the first question in 2008...but sorry no prize:-) Could you please rephrase your question for better clarity as I don't quite get it since Luke 4:1-13 talks about Jesus is led by the Holy Spirit to the wilderness ALONE (Jesus is alone as per commentary by Darby and Matthew Henry and it is safe and reasonable to say so as per its context). There is no mention about anyone following Jesus to the wilderness. Shalom Azure |

1558 | How? | Mark | azurelaw | 198223
Amen to that, Dear Val. You said it beautifully! You remind me of some time ago, a youngster in my youth group expressed his admiration toward the great philosophers and the famous missionries or saints in the past and he was so much lost to choose who be his example. Then I told him, why seek the example from the mortal human, don't we have a perfect and unique example - Jesus Christ - for us to follow. Let us just lay our eyes on Jesus. (Matthew 17:8) Shalom Azure |

1559 | How? | Mark | azurelaw | 198213
Dear Val, Happy 2008 to you, too. (I'm already in a beautiful and sunny morning, the first one, of 2008 while you still have an hour or two to go). The old post triggered me to think about how to love God (this I mean in a "practcal?" way - well, this might not the right word) as commanded in the 1st greatest commandment since we cannot see God and Jesus is in heaven. Therefore, the Bible teaches us to walk by faith, not by sight and we are so much blessed as Jesus said in John 20:29. Still, in our daily lives, every moment, how do we follow the 1st greatest commandment? We, human, are always so absent minded and less faith. Then I think of our gracious Lord who also gave us the 2nd one "to love your neighbour as thy self" which leads me to John 21:15-17 where after Peter replied he LOVED Jesus, our Lord told him to tend His sheep; to Matthew 18:5-6 and Matthew 25:37-40. How great and awesome is our Lord that He would not burden us with unbearable load. "His yoke is easy, His burden is light." (out of context from Matthew 11:30) Shalom Azure |

Dear BMyers, Very well put, thank you. James 4:6 ... it says, "God is opposed to the PROUD, but give grace to the humble." Shalom Azure P.S. Wish both of you (micael03 and BMyers) a fruitfully blessed year of 2008. |
