21 | Does the Father have a God? | John 1:1 | STTIL | 137615
I never said that what you have is tainted and what I have is not. The entire Word of God guides me, not one specific piece. I don't claim to know it all and I don't wrap anything in mysticisim. I'm not saying that I or anyone else is better or worse, I'm not saying that you or anyone else doesn't walk in the Word. I'm not saying that only one group of people, whether it is Unitarian or Trinitarian has the "special" knowledge that leads to salvation. It's all right there in God's Word, we as workman, just need to let It speak for Itself.
22 | Does the Father have a God? | John 1:1 | STTIL | 137616
no that is not what I am saying. I said that Socrates expounded on the immortality of the soul and that Justin used that to explain to the Greeks about the eternal life of the new birth each Christian receives when they are born again. Don't read into what I am saying what you think I am saying.
23 | Does the Father have a God? | John 1:1 | STTIL | 137624
Yes, digging, although my favorite way of putting it is "searching the Scriptures daily"! :-) 1)No, I don't dig entirely by myself (not that you could tell that by my desk), but I do make sure that everything I find in "somebody else's survey" is accurate according to the Word of God. In my profile I have listed several sites, I don't agree with absolutely everything on every site, however most of the sites I do go to subscribe to the same view of *how* the Bible interprets itself. 2)How many do you want, how much time do you have? I just put together an Excel worksheet on just some of the truths about Jesus and there are over 213 of them, just in that small endeavor. However some important truths in my life are Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matt 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the Promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Romans 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: 6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall... Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Eph 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 1 Pet 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 1 Pet 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And oh so many more, but I only have so much space. In His Love, |

24 | Does the Father have a God? | John 1:1 | STTIL | 137637
The mystery doesn't owe anything to the explanation. Aroung the time of Justin Martyr, the Christians were being pursecuted, Justin was just trying to make it better for the Christians. I can't say that I have read anything by N.T. Wright, the name doesn't ring a bell. I'll look into it. |

25 | 2 Cor 4:4 | 2 Cor 4:4 | STTIL | 137532
["why God would blind anyone – He blinded them so that He might extend His grace out to all the world"] That's like saying, "I'm a doctor so I'm going to shoot you so I can save you." God is Light and in Him is no (no, none, nada, zilch, absolutely zero) darkness. If everything that Satan does was ascribe to Satan by name instead of the figures of speech that are used both in Old and New Testament, then the bulk of the Bible would be about Satan instead of God and Christ. There is a documented figure of speech used ascribing to God the acts of Satan. Context helps us to determine whether the Word means God our Father, or if it is a figure of speech. |

26 | Christians react to BACKSLIDERS | Gal 6:1 | STTIL | 137400
It will also help to follow the example of scripture: doctrine, reproof, correction for instruction in righteousness. If they are backsliding then they have the doctrine, reprove them - let them know what they are doing wrong, provide correction - let them know what they should be doing. Above all handle with agape love (1 Cor 13). In His Love, STTIL |

27 | Be Angry and Sin Not , Verse Reference? | Eph 4:26 | STTIL | 137066
Anger in and of itself is not a sin. Mark (KJV)3:1And he [Jesus] entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. 5And when he had looked round about on them with anger[Jesus was angry!], being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. |

28 | why is paul so confident? | Phil 3:16 | STTIL | 137707
"what he wrote is the Word of God" and that is the best thing to have confidence in! :-)
29 | Being in the Beloved? | Col 1:12 | STTIL | 137193
On the surface these two verses appear to speak to the same thing, however, Eph 1:6 tells us we are accepted (charitoo)in His Love (agapao) while Col 1:13 tells us that He has made us fit (hikanoo) for our participation (meris) in the Body (hagios) of Christ(phos). So simply put, one is our standing with God, while the other concerns our walk, both by the grace of God. In His Love STTIL |

30 | 1Thes what group didn't believe Paul | 1 Thessalonians | STTIL | 137694
I have read through 1 Thess, trying to figure out what you are asking, and can't seem to find any clue. Could you maybe give a verse concerning your question to work with here? In His Love, |

31 | Born and Adopted | 1 Pet 1:23 | STTIL | 137075
a familiar phrase "to those who believe"; the invitation, God choosing us, can be and sadly too often is not accepted.
