561 | Jesus is wisdom argument leads nowhere. | Rev 3:14 | Pastor Glenn | 96886
Yes Colin, I was once blind and deaf also. But I often think of how the men of Ninevah believed only one message from only one preacher. As wicked as they were, they quickly believed God and repented. I would hate to see them having to rise for the prosecution against someone that heard God's warning over and over. Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. |

Truthfinder, About your last statement: "I honestly believe that if the Jewish scibes has not changed the original "inspired Scriptures" that this difference of thought would not be here between you and me." Are you saying that the not Christian jewish scribes changed the old testament scriptures so that YHWH was taken out? If this were so then we had no reliable manuscripts at the time of Christ's ministry. Why wouldn't Christ have corrected this alledged blunder? Why wouldn't the dead sea scrolls have shown this descrepancy? "I stress again the point that Jesus makes in verse 10, “I am in union with the Father”, not that he is the Father, Almighty God. 1 John 2:5 shows that we as mere men also can be in union with the Father by saying, . 5 But whoever does observe his word, truthfully in this [person] the love of God has been made perfect. By this we have the knowledge that we are in union with him." It is only possible for us to be in union with God if we confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. If Christ is not God to us, then we cannot have unity with the Father. Pastor Glenn |

FreeThinker, Emmaus made a very interesting comment: "How do you know Jesus does not make Himself known to them at the moment of their death and let them make a decision? It is still through Jesus." The revelation of Jesus (the Gospel) in the Old Testament was vailed. But by faith Jesus did make Himself known. Job spoke of his Redeemer: Job 19 25 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet [5] in [6] my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes-I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! He revealed Himself to Samuel: 1 Samuel 3 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD : The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him. ... 10 The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening." ... 21 The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word. See also Romans 4 and Hebrews 11-12. It was not through proof that God made himself known, but through faithful reponse to His word. How could it be any other way? Didn't Adam and Eve have all the proof they needed, and also Lucifer? Criminals "know" that police exist, but the state of sin they have does not stop their criminal behavior. What is better, reponse to "proof" or reponse to "faith"? You remind me of Ateo. If you are he then I am still looking into your questions and plan to get back to you. Also, keep going to church. Try to find a knowledgable friend that will not mind answering your questions in person. Pastor Glenn |

564 | The scriptures and U.S. Mid East Policy | Rev 12:12 | Pastor Glenn | 137828
Hello Forum, I was recently led to a web-site that complains that Christian Zionists are helping to ruin the U.S. foreign policy in the middle east. They are saying that Zionists do not want peace. I think that the real danger is not Israel or Christian Zionism. I think that it is a lie to say that Zionists do not want peace. I heard that Arafat refused a Palestinian State deal years ago. The Islamic movement clearly wants to destroy Israel. Remember too, that before Israel even became a nation during WW II, the Nazis searched them out and destroyed 6 million Jews. This makes the scriptures perfectly clear. Satan hates Jews and Christians. Look at what is happening around the world and compare to Rev chapter 12: Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Notice that Satan hates both the "woman" (Israel), as well as, her seed (Christians). Please check out a video called "Former Muslims Testify About Islam" by going to the following link: http://www.johnankerberg.org/TV/ankjasrm-islam-wmv.html#IPR1 This is a real eye opener. Islam is a Satanic religion that hates Jews and Christians just as Nazism wanted to destroy Jews and Christians before. Even now Christian are being killed in Sudan, Africa! This is the spirit of Anti-Christ: 1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 1John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 1John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 2John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. I know that some Christians feel that it is wrong to look at the world with a newspaper in one hand and a bible in the other. Am I wrong??? Pastor Glenn |

Thanks BradK, I like your comment: "I'm amazed at how scripture speaks to current events- especially in the Mid-East. We can be certain that there will be no true peace until the Prince of Peace either returns or is acknowledged by Israel as its' Messiah! " I am amazed at how many people still deny belief in God when we cannot get around that "Chief Corner Stone" (Jesus Christ) sitting right smack in the center of history. He came before just as God's word said He would, and He is coming again! Pastor Glenn |

569 | Middle East and America in Prophesy | Rev 12:14 | Pastor Glenn | 63221
Welcome to the forum Chinwe, Rev 12:13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.[2] The "...the woman was given two wings of a great eagle..." (verse 14) could represent the USA, since the Eagle is the national symbol. The USA also help Israel become a nation again in their own land after the dragon tried to destroy all Jews in the holocaust. Gen 25:22But the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If all is well, why am I like this?" So she went to inquire of the LORD. 23And the LORD said to her: "Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger." Some Arabs are descended from Esau, while others are descended from Ishmael. Genesis 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

EdB, Sorry, but the woman here IS clearly Israel. The "... wings of a great eagle ..." is what COULD represent the US in helping Israel to become a nation again. 1 Corinthians 13 12For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

EdB, Well said. So far, America seems to have simularities between both the eagle's wings and the prostitute that says: "Revelation 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow." Why is there a warning for God's people?: Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Some people focus only on the Anti-Christ or on the beast. I think the key will be to focus on all of the characters in the prophecy. Every word is important: Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Again, here is the quote from 1 Cor 13: 1Cor 13:9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. God Bless Pastor Glenn |

justme, Daniel 12 sounds interesting: Dan 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. Even the great prophet Daniel wanted to know more. God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

Pigs Created That Carry Human Genes! Concerning a news article at: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,66345,00.html "WASHINGTON — By manipulating swine sperm, Italian researchers have made a strain of pigs that carry human genes in their hearts, livers and kidneys, an advance that could lead to creating herds of pigs that could provide organs for transplanting into humans." Is this an abomination or what? It seems that no one cares how God feels about his creation design being twisted, sliced, or diced. Should the "ends" (everlasting life) justify ANY "means"? There is a continuing move to live forever without God. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. Psalm 24 1 The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. Should Christians remain silent on these things? Pastor Glenn |

574 | "...these necessary things: ..."??? | Rev 17:5 | Pastor Glenn | 64543
Robert, Thanks for your comments. My mother has told me of how they had to save my life using a blood transfusion on or about the first day after my birth. But, there is still one scripture that I cannot get past: Acts 15 "23They wrote this, letter by them: The apostles, the elders, and the brethren, To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings. 24Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, "You must be circumcised and keep the law"[5] --to whom we gave no such commandment-- 25it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.[6] If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell. " Notice: "...no greater burden than these necessary things: 29that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, ...". Why is this to be kept in the new testament? I think it is because God is saying in both the old and new testaments, that the life (spirit) is in the blood: Deuteronomy 12:23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh. John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Is this really related to blood transfusions or DNA mixing? I wonder. Pastor Glenn |

Hank, Thanks for your well rounded response. You said, "Genetic engineering, even human cloning, looms ever nearer on the horizon, and I believe it (parts of it at least; I would exclude human cloning) like nuclear energy, has at least an equal potential for good as for evil. While I would never promote the idea that the Christian should take the ostrich approach to human problems, hiding his head in the sand and hoping a weak hope that somehow the problem will either solve itself or go away, neither would I promote the idea that Christians must become activists to the extent of taking matters into their own hands. We must surrender first and foremost to the sovereign Lord. It is He, not we, who is in charge. We can be instruments for change in the world, but we must be His instruments. We must seek His will through much prayer.." I agree that genetic engineering has potential for good, as well as, for evil. Human cloning is not really new; as it is already, it is called identical twins. Identical twins have the exact same DNA, but their fingerprints are always slightly different. The "Tower of Babel" mentality is what I think that offends God, in that it says proudly that "We will go to heaven, whether God wants us to or not!". To build a great tower was not the problem, it was the disregard for the one true God. It is this disregard for God that is more dangerous than the atomic bomb because it is like daring God to stop them. I believe that God brings special judgement against nations, not just "The great Tribulation", but judgements of the order of what Jonah preached to against Ninevah: Total distruction of their entire city! It is not so much the technology of man that bothers me, as I work in high technology as an Electronics Engineer, but it is God's judgement against sin. By the way, Romans 8 is also one of my favorite scriptures. God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

Emmaus, I like how you said, "...scripture can give the proper frame of reference for determining the morality of various actions. " I feel that we should examine the scriptures, pray, and then take a stand for or against: James 1 5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
