You really believe that? Do you still believe in indelgences too? I remember saying "Jesus, Mary and Joseph" used to be worth 900 days off, used to see how many times in a row I could rattle that off, get those days knocked off. :)
562 | No Joyce Meyer?????????????????? | Acts 17:11 | Norrie | 27288
I basically quit listening to Hagee when he went w/the millions of years stance on creation allowing for gap theory. I basically quit listening to all of them. I used to be a TV preacher nut, I have tons of tapes I purchased from many of them including Hagee, Joyce, Copeland, etc. I used to tape then on VCR if I wasn't around to watch. Then I kept hearing wrong theology warnings and just quit everybody now. I followed Copeland since I was saved in '80 too.

Since I've been seeing all these theories on divine healing and I got this today from CBN, I figured I'd post it. Too bad this forum doesn't have live links so you'll just have to copy and paste: When I pray for healing I don't always see or feel any immediate results. Should I pray again, pray a different way, or just pretend that everything is okay, that God heard my prayer and will answer someday in His time? http://www.cbn.com/partners/bringiton/Healing.asp |

564 | Can other writing be God inspired? | Acts 20:7 | Norrie | 50499
Somebody asked this on another forum I'm on. Does anbody have any good answers? If the men who wrote the Bible were God-inspired, why can't others be God-inspired as well? That is an excellent question...and I'm VERY surprised that none of the Christians here have responded. How about it folks? |

565 | Can other writing be God inspired? | Acts 20:7 | Norrie | 50506
I know the Bible is complete, that's not the question really, it's about other works. Look at all the Christian books out, are any of them God inspired and what makes them so or how can you determine which books/articles are?

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted some info to try to get the godless hoards to understand, they like a good explanation even if they don't accept it. When you say because it is, God said so in the Bible, they come back with another question trying to trip you up. I figure if I get good solid answers, it helps. :) Joe, I think I'll use your answer if you don't mind. :) |

Curt and Emmaus, what part of Baltimore? My mother is from Baltimore and I used to live there off and on. Mama grew up on Ashland Ave in St. Wensaslaus parish, not too far from Patterson Park. I loved Baltimore, it was different. I worked at Bethlehem Steel once. My aunt moved to Frederick tho so we go there now to visit, maybe an occas trip to Balto. when we come up. She still works there tho.

Norrie-Mobile, AL Mother of Mardi Gras (but we're not as decadent as NO. :)) I haven't been in years tho, I know since 80s. Too many stray bullets for my tastes. Mama's next door neighbors daughter in law got killed by a stray bullet in 92, that did it for me. I grew up w/the son.

Hi Curt, you mean Beth Steel is still in business? I thought they priced themselves out a long time ago. :) I was a temp. contractor, piping design. Usually we got paid a little more than perm. employees because that's all we get, no benefits but not there. I almost fell out when I heard what they were getting plus the benefits. Shoot, every so often, they'd get a 6 week vacation! One time I worked for the Beth Shipyard. One of the guys who used to be direct at Steel was there, I think he was phased out. I couldn't believe what the workers got either-no wonder companies go overseas! Fair pay is one thing but the unions were holding them up! One time I had an apt on Patterson Park Ave, overlooking the park. You could see all the way to Sparrows Point. Then out the back window you could see all the way downtown. It was just a dinky apt, bedroom, kit and bath but what a view!!! |

We have crabs here and my mother is from Balto-she knows how to steam them! I think I had boiled crabs once. :) We have a camp in the delta here and my brother goes up and gets crabs whenever possible, we love them. I have to admit, people here don't know what to do w/crabs like there-thank God I had Balto. roots! Here they can't do soft shells right, they don't how to make proper crab cakes, just that deviled crab junk, tastes like stuffing. I remember my cousin lived not far from a place called Hales where you went in and they had seafood laid out and you get them to cook up whatever you want, soft shells, shrimp, fish, I loved that place! It was grab and go place, that was foreign to me, we don't have those kind of places down south. :) I got to where I knew my way around pretty good, but I haven't lived there since 80s, memory fading. Like I remember Hales was on a cross street the opposite way as my cousins off Perring Pkwy but can't remember the street-if I had a map...:) My aunt lived in area around Bel Air Rd/Erdman Ave. I just loved Balto. Last place I lived there was on Balto. St, shoot, it was so bad then the hookers would fight over who had rights to the alley. When I was a kid, it was another world for sure. We were in different time zone, Balto had daylight savings time, we didn't, 9:00 and it was still light! My grandmother lived in row house w/marble steps, people still had screens w/landscapes painted on them. We used to walk over to Monument St to go shopping, it was wonderful. I guess now there not much there. Last time we were in Balto, we drove around, Mama said it's enough to make you cry looking at how rundown and deserted it was. Too bad change isn't always for the good. :( Thanks for trip down memory lane. Bet you have some good stories as a cop, that should have been really interesting. Norrie |

My mother's grandparents were Bohemian immigrants. Johns Hopkins will take over Balto! :) I guess that's a good thing tho because then the places will get renovated? I know that happened around Memorial Park area. A friend had some houses they renovated, my soon to be husband at the time was working on them. I sure would have loved to have one. :) I looked up on the map, Taylor Ave was the cross street on Perring Pkwy. :) Norrie |

You must have the same kind of crab cakes we have here-mostly stuffing, very little crab. :) Mama does want to actually go into Balto this summer to look up some relatives she hasn't seen in ages. One is her sil, they lived on the bay, don't know if she moved or not. The air would smell of crab seasoning there. Makes we wish I had some steamed crabs to tear open. :) I remember when we did that here, our friends would get all squeamish and go ulk! how can you do that!!! :) Easy, they're delicious! You don't wany any? Good, more for me! :) Norrie |

574 | Is there middle ground? | Romans | Norrie | 22008
Our Thus Bible Study teacher said that he read a story saying that after a BG Cruasade where all those thoughsands are saved, when they do a followup, only about 2 percent actually are real.
575 | Ninevah did. | Rom 1:18 | Norrie | 20505
Nineveh did what? Should you have hit note instead of question?
576 | Ninevah did. | Rom 1:18 | Norrie | 20512
My opinion is that God changed His mind when Ninevah repented. Remember He changed His mind when talking to Abraham about sparing the people in Sodom too, kept going 50, 50, 30, 20, then couldn't even find 10. But I believe God can change His mind.
577 | response | Rom 1:18 | Norrie | 20514
I bet you hit question instead of note again. :) I think you're right in what your saying. It's like my pastor was saying is that God has a good plan for our life, we just choose not to follow it. Then we can repent then God will have plan B, C, D, etc. as many as needed to get us back on track, even if we did mess up the original plan. :) Look at all our lives, I'm sure there's not one of us that haven't made mistakes we wished we hadn't of made, said, if only I did that instead. But God continues blessing us and we mess up, we can't undo the mistake, but He will put us on a new path and He'll keep on doing it no matter how many times we mess up. Even Judas Iscariot could have been forgiven if he repented. |

I tried posting yesterday but kept getting cannot display so...anyway, Rom 8:28. We may make mistakes but God can still bring good out of them. :)
579 | What does "being a homosexual" mean? | Rom 1:19 | Norrie | 91758
Anyone who has sex outside the confines of marriage is in sin. Homosexuals aren't allowed by God to marry so any homosexual sex is sin even if the country you live in does legalize it. If someone is a homosexual and does not give in to his lusts, then it's not sin, it's just temptation. Abortion is still murder even tho it's legal. |
||||||
580 | How does any Homosexual believe they are | Rom 1:19 | Norrie | 91759
Are you a sinner or are you saved by grace??? You can't be both. You may still sin when you're saved by grace but you are not a sinner.
