Hi humbledbyhisgrace: As far as your position on the issue of Apostles, and Prophets, I totally understand your position. I also totally disagree with it, so we can at this point agree to disagree, as brothers in Christ. It is not an issue that should cause division. Your Brother In Christ Nevvvvine |

Hi Tim:: If we have been saved, Born Again, regenerated. This means we have been sealed with the Holy Spirit, is this the same as being filled? If the answer is yes, and we cannot lose our Salvation, which we cannot. Is it then possable for us to NOT walk in the Spirit? In Christ Nevvvvine |

Hi CDBJ:: We are a Vessle created by God, upon our salvation, we are (Filled) with God's Holy Spirit, from that moment on, we are (Indwelled) by the Holy Spirit. Where is it written, this filling (Can) or Does) take place, more than once? Just what would the process be, by which we can be (Unfilled), without being (Undwelled) at the same time? (EXAMPLE) If I have an empty glass, (representing the unregenerate person). Then I take a fluid, filling this glass, until full (representing the infilling of God's Holy Spirit). The glass now stands being (Indwelled) by this fluid, (representing the Believer). If I pour out even (One) drop of fluid, the glass in effect, is not full anymore. The questions then arise. 1) How much of the Holy Spirit is lost upon sinning? 2) Is the amount of loss, determined by the degree of Sin committed? If you (Sin, as a believer) you are in effect, putting yourself back under the Law, acknowledging that now being saved, (freed from sin) by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are kept free by the keeping of the Law. 3) Does not Sinning, which can only be attributed to us, by the (Transgression) of the Law, on the part of the Believer, constitute (Falling Away)? We can't lose our salvation.. Jas. 2:1010) For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Gal. 3:1-3 1) O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2) This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3) Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Heb. 6:4-6 4) For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5) And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6) ("If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance"); ("seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh"), ("and put him to an open shame"). Part 2 of 2 Hi again CDBJ We "are" dead to the Law? Rom. 7 1:11 1) Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2) For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3) So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. 4) Wherefore, my brethren, ("ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ"), that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 5) ("For when we were in the flesh"), (the motions of sins), (which were by the law), (did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death). 6) ("But now we are delivered from the law"), (that being dead wherein we (were) held); that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. 7) What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, (I had not known sin, but by the law): for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. 8) But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. (" For without the law sin was dead"). 9) ("For I was alive without the law once"): ("but when the commandment came"), ("sin revived, and I died"). 10) And the commandment, which was ordained to life, ("I found to be unto death"). 11) ("For sin"), ("taking occasion by the commandment"), ("deceived me"), ("and by it slew me"). Gal. 5:16 This I say then, ("Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh") Rom. 8:1,4, 1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, ("who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit"). 4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit 5) ("For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh"); ("but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit"). 9) ("But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit"), ("if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you"). Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 13) ("For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die"): ("but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live"). Heb. 7:19 19) For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. I think that's enough for now In Gods Love Nevvvvine |

69 | How to follow, walk in the Spirit? | Gal 5:16 | Nevvvvine | 211464
Hi Keliy you say: To walk "in the Spirit" is to place the desires of the flesh on the back shelf, this is related in Gal 5:17, "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." answer: But brother, it isn't a matter of placing the desires of the flesh on the back shelf, it is the burying of the Flesh (the old man), with Christ! Even though it does say the flesh and the spirit, are continually at war with one another, it does not say in this verse, or any other verse for that matter, when the flesh wins any given battle, or that Sin has been Imputed to the Believer, even though our Flesh still goes through the motions of Sin. But to the contrarry if we rightly divide the Word of Truth. I have added the Brackets, in the following verses. 2 Cor. 5:16,17 16) (Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh): yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, (he is a new creature): (old things are passed away); (behold), (all things are become new). We have become a NEW CREATURE in CHRIST, one that is in the Flesh, but is Dead to that Flesh, and is alive to the Spirit, walking in that Spirit, Not after the rudiments of the world, but to the Glory of God through Christ. The old things that have passed away, the Flesh has Died, we have become Alive to the Spirit. All things have become new, Rom. 5:13 13) For until the law sin was in the world: (but sin is not imputed when there is no law). Rom 7:4 4) Wherefore, my brethren, (ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ); that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, (that we should bring forth fruit unto God). Rom. 7:5 5) (For when we were in the flesh), (the motions of sins), (which were by the law), (did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death). Rom. 7:6 6) (But now we are delivered from the law), (that being dead wherein we were held); (that we should serve in newness of spirit), and (not in the oldness of the letter). Rom. 7:8 8) (But sin), (taking occasion by the commandment), (wrought in me all manner of concupiscence). (For without the law sin was dead). We see in the preceeding verses, it is not just that we are Dead to the Law, (BUT) that without Law, Sin is Dead to us! In Christ Nevvvvine |

Hi Tim:: You say: I would say that the sealing of the Holy Spirit takes place when we are baptized into the Body of Christ through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Question: This sealing that takes place, could it be understood, as the same type of sealing, as in the days of old, when a King would put His official seal upon a Decree, letter, or some other official document, by the King? Once this seal was applied by the King, who had the right to change anything that had been sealed? In the case of a letter, only the person to whom the letter was addressed, had the right to open it. I put it forward to you then sir, that we have been sealed by God, with His Holy Spirit, until the day of our redemption by Jesus Christ, (HIM) being the only one with the Authority, to change us who have been sealed. Because all Authority has been given to Him, both in Heaven, and Earth. And we shall be changed, in the twinkling of an eye. When Jesus shall return, this corruption, shall put on incorruption. Eph. 4:30 30) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Would not the fact a Christian sinned, Greve the Holy Spirit? Would not this sinning on the part of the believer, be tatamount to the Isrealites worshiping the golden calf, after God had delivered them out of Egypt? Eph.1:13 13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, There isnt any way to refute the 2 scriptures you have used to say the disciples were filled more than once, but they really do stretch the imagination. Acts 2:4 was the inital filling, not qualifying as another filling. You say: It must be else why would Paul issue the imperative of Gal. 5:16. Not only is the command addressed to those in the church, but it is also a present tense imperative which indicate ongoing action. Thus, it could be translated, 'keep on walking'. As you say Paul is talking to the Church, "keep on walking" but why would you so readily accept, we in the church should "keep walking in the Flesh", and not "keep walking in the Spirit". That which is flesh, is flesh, that which is spirit, is spirit. Rom. 8:1, 4-11 1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. 5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. When we have been quickened by the Holy Spirit, it means a change has taken place. 1 Pet. 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. Gal 5:24 24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 1 Cor. 10:23 23) All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. In Gods Love Have a great Thanksgiving also my friend! Nevvvvine |

Hi Tim: Question on the filling that you say, can take place more than once. My question then is, where is the scripture about being refilled after we have lost the filling on account of "sin" in our lives? Because all of the examples you have provided, talk about being filled again, and praising God, and Joy, but they neglect to mention, the bringing of the believer back into the Graces of God. See my point. I will conceed the possibility of numerous fillings, but which scripture speaks to the falling away from the faith (GRACE), because of sin, then being restored with a re-filling? To be Re-filled on account of Sin in our lives, would constitute a loss of the Holy Spirit. Does not Sin grieve the Holy Spirit? Would not the committing of Sin, then asking forgiveness constitute (WORKS?) (Do not the Catholics so?) When "WE" all know it is by Grace! Heb. 6:4-6 4) For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5) And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6) If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Because we are partakers of the Holy Spirit. Eph. 1:13 13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Eph. 4:30 30) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. So we see, we have been sealed, with the Holy Spirit of promise, for the day of redemption. Can the word ("FOR") in "for the day of redemption" be understood as ("UNTIL") if so then there is the answer on the grounds, that within the word (UNTIL), there is not any room for intermitant loss, it is a constant, an innevitable, an irrevicable. In closing I offer to you, the true GRACE of GOD in the life of the believer. Because we have a hard time comprehending, all the riches of his glory towards us. Rom. 9:23 23) And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 1 John 3:8,9 8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1John 5:18 18) We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. Hi Doc.:: I know it has been awile since your post but. Sounds like you have a couple of thoughts, that might open new doors. Is there any light you feel should be shed? You say: 1) Do these other uses of the word help us to shed light on the sense of "filled in the Spirit?" 2) In other words, if we set it aside as a theological expression, and look at it linguistically, what can we learn? 74 | How to follow, walk in the Spirit? | Gal 5:16 | Nevvvvine | 211925
Hi Tim. If we look back at 1 John 1 for a greater context of the book, we then see that John is speaking to these people, as though they were in need of being taught again the basics of the Faith. So I can't believe that he was teaching doctrine. It appears to be nothing more than a (re- establishing, a reitteration), of where they, had come from, information they had known, this should not be misconstrued to be a teaching of, or for mature believers It is believed, the 1st. cent. church had problems with Judisers, Gnostics, Pagans. (Marriam Webster Dictionary) Reestablish: To establish anew; to fix or confirm again; to restore; as, to reestablish a covenant; Reitteration : To state or do over again or repeatedly sometimes (with wearying effect) 1 John 1:9 9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness When we are cleansed from "ALL" unrighteousness, at the point of Salvation, is it your belief, that this "ALL" only covers our Past unrighteousnesses? At what point then does "ALL" cease to mean "ALL" ? When we have been cleansed from "ALL" unrighteousness, then we become the Righteousness of God, in Christ, right? Romans 3:22 22) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 1 Corinthians 1:30 30) But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: Galatians 2:21 21) I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Philippians 1:11 11) Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. Philippians 3:9 9) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: Do we obtain this righteousness by Grace, or Works? If Baptism can be viewed as Works, can't the (Confession of our sins), be viewed the same way? To clarify, I use Confession of sins, in relation to the believer sinning on a daily basis. Can we lose this righteousness? Does not the loss of righteousness constitute, (Loss of Salvation)? Isn't all sin unrighteousness? In Love for the Brethren. Nevvvvine |

75 | ... | Eph 2:15 | Nevvvvine | 211189
Hi ovadyah: The simplest answer to that question is. Jesus abolished in His flesh, the Law. (By fulfilling the Law.) So we who believe in Jesus as Savior, both Jew, and Gentile, in him we both become righteous, as though we have fulfilled the law ourselves. Thereby establishing peace with God in His flesh. As far as the Law is concerned. It still exists, in particular to those that want to live by the Law.(the Jews) But as for us, who are of the household of Faith, we have been set free from the curse of the Law in our lives. Galatians 3:10 10) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Galatians 3:13 13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Jesus taught us: Matt. 22:36-40 36) Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38) This is the first and great commandment. 39) And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Mark 12:30,31 30) And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31) And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Luke 10:27,28 27) And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28) And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. If we keep the 1st.,and 2nd. commandments, we will keep all of them. For Love worketh no ill to our neighbour. In Jesus Love Nevvvvine |

76 | ... | Eph 2:15 | Nevvvvine | 211275
Hi again ovadyah: Keep and Teach or Abolished/Annulled? Is that question being asked in relation to how, we as Christians should look at the Law? When you say Law do you mean the 10 commandments, or the whole law? Why does Paul say Christ abolished His Father's Law when Christ states: 1.)That's not why I came(Mt.5:17-19) 2.)We shouldn't loosen any commandment(Mt.5:17-19) 3.)We should keep the commandments(Mt.5:17-19) 4.)We should teach others to keep them (Mt.5:17-19) Paul says what he did, because he is talking to Spiritual Beings, not Fleshly Beings, if you have been Born Again. The abolishing of the Law only applys to believers, through Faith, we have fulfilled the Law through Christ. Rom. 7:4 4) Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Rom. 7:6 6) But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; (THAT WE SHOULD SERVE IN NEWNESS OF SPIRIT), and not in the oldness of the letter. Jer. 31:33 33) But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. This is what has happened to us as believers. The plan, and the opperation to fulfill that plan of redemption was God's doing, not Man's. God, and God alone chose how he would accomplish this for us So if it says, in Eph. 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; Then we have no other choice but to believe the inspired word of God. Gal. 4:4,5 4) But when the fulness of the time was come, (GOD sent forth his Son), made of a woman, made under the law, 5) (To redeem them that were under the law), that we might receive the adoption of sons. 77 | ... | Eph 2:15 | Nevvvvine | 211314
Hi ovadyah: With your origional question, it appeared as though you were looking for, or asking help in attaining a better understanding, of the scripture in question. But, you have refuted everything everyone has said to you. It seems like you are either unable, or unwilling to see the (Spritual understanding of the explinations), which have been submitted to you. We are no longer in the flesh, but in the Spirit, therefore we are Dead to the Law. If we are effectivly dead to the Law, does that not mean (For us who believe) the LAW HAS been abolished? Col. 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Phil. 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: If these 2 scriptures are not enough for you to understand, then the question arises. Are you saying scripture is contradicting scripture, or what Paul wrote was in error? In God's Love Nevvvvine |

78 | Prophets in the church | Eph 4:11 | Nevvvvine | 209793
Hi Brad; If there are Prophets in the Church today, holding them to the standard of 100 percent 100 percent, would create a problem for the Prophet that is prophesying for the first time, or the second time before his first prophesy has been 100 percent fulfilled. Were there prophesies that (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel) gave that were not fulfilled until Christ was born? If so then they would not have been deemed as True Prophets in there own time would they? We have the advantage of possessing the bible to see they were. The question then remains is, how do you judge a Prophet, (by his religious affiliation, age, is he really saved)? See what I mean, all we can do is either believe God still talks to his people (us) or he doesn't. Then it falls into the category of church doctrine determined by religious interpretation of scripture, and we all know, that is not reliable because there are so many different religions. (example) If I said right now, that I had a word of God for the Body of Christ, or thus sayeth the Lord, would you believe me? I firmly believe God can talk to us through Prophets, but only to the Church, I don't put into the same category a word of wisdom, Faith, knowledge to a single person, or group. My understanding would be the whole body. We say about a lot of things, when we want to make our point, that God has not changed, he is the same today, yesterday, and forever. (Except when it is something we personally don't want to believe) because of our religion, then we will find scripture to make our argument, or just declare that the scripture being used doesn't mean what it is saying, or it is only in one place so it cant be true. We have all seen this type of thing happen. Just came into the Forum, saw your post thought I would give my comment on it. Gods Day to you Nevvvine |

79 | Prophets in the church | Eph 4:11 | Nevvvvine | 209810
Hi BradK; I fully understand your position, but my question to you was focused on HOW could or would you be able to tell if there was a true profit with the criteria of 100 Pc. 100 Pc. I am in on way saying, that there would or should be things that God has not revealed to us already, because we do have the bible as his word to the Church. Or that God only has new things to reveal to us, but isn't it a possibility that God would talk to the Body of Christ to Edify it? Body of Christ being the true church, the believers that will hear the voice of the good shepherd and not another's, but if you have closed your ears, because of the false Prophets of today, that seems just like the kind of thing Satan would do, to discredit the true Prophets God MIGHT send to us. In your statement, saying you don't believe there are any true prophets today. With that belief how would you know if there were any, I personally believe there were Prophets sent by God, to the Jews before WW2 but many said we don't believe them, God would not tell us to leave our homes, businesses, our lively hoods that our fathers, and grandfathers have worked so hard for, and they died because of that belief. Is this belief something you personally have found to be true, or is it something you have been taught by someone else, or is it a teaching from your religious background up until today? I don't mean to be rude, or put you on the spot, thinking you have to defend your belief, you don't I'm just curious. I myself have come from a varied religious background, and I personally have had a battle of my own to overcome things that I was taught as truth that weren't, those things blocked me from seeing God in a much more clear light. My motto now, and for a long time has been. "Never limit God according to what I believe, because he is always bigger, than my beliefs." Be Blessed Nevvvvine |
