sniper, Praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who thought not of His own life but gave His body a sacrifice for our sins! Blessed be the lamb of God forever! First of all thank you for allowing me the opportunity to enter the discussion. A few of us members "hashed" this subject out a few months ago. You may want to do a quick word search and see the postings. I had, and still have, difficulty accepting the fact that no where in the word of the Lord our God is there a verse that reads "All those little children who do not yet understand, or those mentally ill that are not able to understand the preaching of the gospel that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, died for their sins, and rose from the dead shall enter the kingdom of God." Search cover to cover sniper. You will not find it. Oh how I wish it were there! Believe you me I dug out every verse I could find or think of in the debate so that I could have closure in my spirit that infants/babies and little children enter the kingdom of God. The Lord my God has blessed me, as well as many others I'm sure, with a heart that loves and at the same time has a burden for children. A burden which I am very happy to bear. I weep for them. When I see a child no matter where I am my heart reaches out to them and I pray for them in my heart immdiately. Although there is not a verse found like the one I mentioned above, I am comforted by these. John 14:13 "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 16 John 14:14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. I ask the Lord our God in the name of Jesus to forgive the sins of infants/babies and little children. Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." ......... I pray that the Lord our God forgive and have mercy on these little ones for they know not what they do. Mark 3:28 "Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 18 Mark 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"-- Does an infant/baby or a toddler have the ability to knowingly blaspheme the holy spirit? John 20:23 "If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained." I wondered about this verse, but, as it was pointed out to me by an elder "We do not forgvie unto salvation. Only the Lord can do that." AMEN to that! Hope this helps sniper. By the way, how about filling in your personal profile. Always a brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

sniper, I will sing of the glory of my Lord who is Christ Jesus the wonderful counselor and prince of peace! Praise His holy name forever! First of all, are you looking for an argument? You write "Forgiveness is dependent on each person repenting and asking for forgiveness." It appears as if you have answered your original question for yourself. Second, I am not very good at debating or arguing. Third, You write "I think that you have applied these verses out of context." As Paul writes "1 Cor 4:3 But to me it is a very small thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court; in fact, I do not even examine myself. 1 Cor 4:4 For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord. 1 Cor 4:5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God." Lastly, I will gladly receive correction from one that has proven to me that they are an elder to me in Christ Jesus. You have not as yet done so. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

disciplerami, I will praise the Lord my God for His mercy endures forever! I will praise the Lord my God for He loved me and provided salvation for me at the cross of Calvary! Blessed be His name forever! Please re-read my post and note that I wrote that I am not very good at arguing or debating. In reading through your posts, the total being 216 when I looked, it appears that you are very good at debating. I would humbly ask that you let me respond to sniper and do not attempt to drag me into a debate. However, I do understand that this is a public forum and you are entitled to enter any discussion you desire, and, I would welcome comment from you on any one of my posts so long as it is for the purpose of edification and not for the sole purpose of debate. 1 Cor 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? Blessings in Jesus name, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

sniper, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever! With my hands lifted up, thanksgiving in my heart, and my mouth filled with praise, I will bless the Lord my God! Blessed be His name forever! You write "I had intended to make a response, but I have just read Disciplerami's reply to your post. Disciplerami's post is a better reply than I would have made." If you are interested in reading it, I did respond to him. You write "I would like you to support your assertion that correction can only be received if it is from an elder in Christ." See the scripture below. You'll probably again think that I am taking this "out of context", but, you will notice in my previous post, your opinion of my interpretation of scripture or the context is a small matter to me. 1 Pet 5:5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; All of that being said, I would like to ask if it is too late to start over with you and say WELCOME to this forum! I have been part of this forum for one year now and have learned much about the word of the Lord our God! This is a great place to study and discuss God's holy word. Please forgive me for an apparent harsh response and please read through some of my previous posts and know that I am not usually that way. I'm experiencing some health problems that have angered me because I cannot function the way I normally do and probably let that bleed through when posting. That is no excuse though. I should of refrained from responding, and, probably not entered this discussion at all. I love it here on the forum and do the best I can to greet every new member I respoond to in the loving spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ. Again, Forgive me. Col 3:6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, Col 3:7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. Col 3:8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Always you brother in Christ Jesus, Cyclist (David) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

sniper, Praise Him from the mountain tops! Praise Him from the valleys! Praise Him from the bottom of the seas! Let the praise of the Lord our God be heard throughout the earth! Praise the name of the Lord! I agree with you that we have a responsibility to check everything against scripture. No, I do not belive that we should follow the teachings of all older men just because they are older. The way I understand it, Peter is writing to the churches just as all the others; Paul, James, Jihn, and the author of Hebrews. To me Peter is speaking to the younger men in the body of Christ about the older men in the body of Christ. I believe in my previous posting I wrote "elder in Christ", Did I not? I still regret ever entering this discussion but I love little ones so much that when I see anything posted to the forum that asks of their salvation, I just cannot help but jump in somewhere. I think, no, I know that I have learned my lesson this time. I will continue to pray to the Lord my God for them (see the scriptures below). I'M NOT AT ALL DECLARING THAT MY PRAYERS WILL SAVE CHILDREN, no, only God can do that. From the discussions I've had in the past, I do not think that it is for me to know the exact answer. If I did maybe I would have been too relaxed in teaching my little ones about Jesus. I started talking to my daughter and my grandchildren about Jesus Christ and God our Father the very first time I saw them which was the day they were born. I did also and still do pray for them and all other shildren as well. I will continue to pray to my father for children without ceasing, but, I always end with "Not my will but your will be done." Not that He needs me to say it, I just know that His will is perfect. Luke 11:5 Then He said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; Luke 11:6 for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; Luke 11:7 and from inside he answers and says, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.' Luke 11:8 "I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs. Luke 11:9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:10 "For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. Luke 11:11 "Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Luke 11:12 "Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?" Blessings to you sniper! Always your brother in prayer and praise and in Christ our Lord, David (Cyclist) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

254 | Is God selfish? | Rom 9:20 | Cyclist | 53798
Greeting CURIOUS! This is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it! Please forgive me for this short answer but I've been very busy. Not that I could give the best answer to your question, there are others on this forum who I consider to be my elders and give very, very helpful answers, but, I noticed that an answer was not yet submitted to you. I don't know about you but I am kind of impatient and look for a quick answer, so, here you go. Verse 20 especially Rom 9:11 for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God's purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls, Rom 9:12 it was said to her, "THE OLDER WILL SERVE THE YOUNGER." Rom 9:13 Just as it is written, "JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED." Rom 9:14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! Rom 9:15 For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." Rom 9:16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. Rom 9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." Rom 9:18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. Rom 9:19 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" Rom 9:20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? Rom 9:21 Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? Rom 9:22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? Rom 9:23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, Many blessings to you in Christ Jesus my Lord! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

256 | response to: There is no such scripture | Rom 10:9 | Cyclist | 37562
Good day to you cleo! All praise and glory and honor be to God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ to Whom all pawer has been given in Heaven and on earth! Sorry for the interuption here but, Hey, COOL IT! jjp is trying to help as many others are that are part of this forum. Here are some scpritures for you: Matt 19:18 Then he *said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS; Matt 19:19 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Rom 6:2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Rom 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! Rom 6:16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? Rom 8:10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Rom 8:12 So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- Rom 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Rom 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. My Jesus bless and keep you! In Christ's Love, Cyclist |

257 | response to: There is no such scripture | Rom 10:9 | Cyclist | 37590
drummergirl, No need to apologize, I have gotten carried away with my emotions when posting to the forum and have had to be broguht back to my senses. I and probably others have, and still are, experiencing the same problem as you. It is very frustrating! Especialy if it is some one close to us. Here's some more scripture for you: 1 Cor 5:1 It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father's wife. 1 Cor 5:2 You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst. 1 Cor 5:3 For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. 1 Cor 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 1 Cor 5:5 I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 1 Tim 1:18 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight, 1 Tim 1:19 keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith. 1 Tim 1:20 Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme Heb 10:31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb 10:32 But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, Heb 10:33 partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated. Heb 10:34 For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one. Heb 10:35 Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. Heb 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Heb 10:37 FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE, HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY. Heb 10:38 BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM. Heb 10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. In Him, Cyclist |

258 | Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? | Rom 10:9 | Cyclist | 73222
Dear Hank, It is good to give thanks to the Lord and sing praises to our God! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forever more! The Lord our God alone is worthy of all praise! I've only read a few posts from this thread. WOW! It is getting a little HEATED! I'm wondering about those that were on this earth prior to Jesus first coming. These were saved because of their faith in Him. You know, Abraham, Issac, Jaccob, Joshua, Caleb, Elijah, Iasah, David, Moses, and all the other prophets. I wonder, and I am NOT trying to be "CUTE", I take the discussion of the Holy Word of the Lord our God very seriously, I wonder if they were baptized after the fact. I mean, maybe they have been baptized in water where they are at now. What do you think dear brother? David (Cyclist) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

259 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | Cyclist | 60315
Dear brother John, I will give thanks to the Lord my God, with all my heart, And will glorify His name forever! Praise the Lord! I know dear brother that this must be a "trick" question. Your previous postings give you away as being fully knowledgable of the scriptural answers to your question. Or, Are you looking for a particular answer or some healthy discussion? When you use the word "can" in your question, does it relate to someone's ability to be saved? If so, we know the answer to that already, salvation is a free gift from GOD. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
