inmyheart, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever! Where ever I am I'll praise you my God! When ever I can I will praise you my Savior! Thank you for your post my friend! I'm sorry for the late response. After I responded to your post I shut out the lights because I had to rise early this morning. Your post was much needed. I checked my e-mail when I got up this morning, and your post was a great way to start my day! Lately things have been this way for me, not that I am to be compared with Paul: 2 Cor 7:5 For even when we came into Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted on every side: conflicts without, fears within. Thank you again my friend! Always your brother in Christ Jesus, our Savior and Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Forum elders, Good morning! First of all, I did an extensive search in the forum and found only one post in answer to a simmilar question, I've added that response to this posted question. As you probably know by my user name "Cyclist", and if you have read my profile, I exercise this body that God has given me to use on earth quite a bit. In fact, I exercise 1 1/2 to 2 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week. I am also a certified personal fitness trainer. However, I do not let, and will not let, exercise interfere with my spiritual life, duties, and responsibilities (God and family first, Career second, exercise and me last). Here is the post I found when I did a search: charis 3/1/01 7:34PM "Amigo, Exercise is fine. Inflating every seperate muscle on your body for the purpose of showng your oiled skin to others or looking at your self in the mirror is indeed vain (empty). Becoming a brain-dead couch potato is not very good either. Fitness of mind and body makes sense. Extremes on either side are foolish. Even this forum is healthy if it is thought-provoking and faith-lifting. An 'over-pumped' mind is also foolish." Now to my question, finally! I consider body building a sport and there is a contest coming up that I have participated in before, but, would I possibly be offending my fellow Christians, or, not be a proper whitness to others? Rom 14:21 It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles. I know of others, very few, that are body builders that claim to be Christian. However, I have not been able to share with them to know if the true Spirit of Jesus is in them. Here are scriptures that I found that may relate to physical exercise but I would like to know if there are more, and, I do value your opinion(s) as Christian elders because since I have been part of this forum your postings have really helped me to grow, by leaps and bounds! NASB 1 Cor 9:25 Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. NASB 1 Tim 4:8 for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. KJV 1 Tim 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. Thank you! Always your brother in Christ, Cyclist P.S. I spared you of opening my posted question with praise to my God and yours. Not that I will EVER apologize for praising and glorifying our Heavenly Father, God forbid! It has been brought to my attention that a forum may not be the place for that. I will, however, end my post the same way I always do, and, if you will still allow me to, begin my posts with praise. I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Hi Assy, I will praise the Lord for He is kind and merciful and loving! He alone is worthy of praise! I will praise my God for He created in me a new heart and forgave me of my sins! You write: "When I asked this question before, I was told to pray and asked God to reveal to me the answer. The answer I gave previously is what God revealed to me. So I challenge each of you, to pray and ask God to reveal the answer to you." I pray continually to my Father in heaven the day long, so, a challenge to pray is not necessary, but it is good advice and appreciated. 1 Thess 5:17 pray without ceasing; In January of this year I pray to the Lord my God for more knowledge of His Word and to fill me more with His spirit of wisdom. This forum was and is His answer to those prayers. I'm reposting what I posted to you yesterday (at the end of this post), sorry for the long post. Please keep in mind that there are those on this forum that may very well be, and as far as I am concerned, our elders. 1 Pet 5:5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. Hi Pastor Glenn! Cyclist here. I'm not Hank but I was thinking on this subject his morning. In my studies on this subject, I saw these verses of scripture that, to me, challenge that notion that God has predestined people to perish (Capitalization by me). 2 Cor 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 2 Cor 4:4 in whose case THE god OF THIS WORLD has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. Bless you Pastor! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Assy, From the rising of the sun to it's setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. Praise the name of the Lord! Here is scripture that, the way I read it, supports the fact that Adam was the very first man (human). 1 Cor 15:45 So also it is written, "The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 20 1 Cor 15:47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. Blessings! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! Assy, All glory and honor and praise be to God our Father, and to Jesus Christ who died for our sins! You are answering a question from April of 2002, and, the answer to the queation asked is actaully in the question itself. I noticed that there are postings on this subject that, to me, support the fact that Cain married one of his relatives. I don't see in the scriptures that you have given to support your answer where people were on the earth before Adam and Eve. Blessing in Christ Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear brother John, It was a cool crisp morning in east central IL this morning. It took about 5 miles before my body warmed up when riding my bicycle. The sun rise was beautiful! How beautiful are the creations of God! Praise God for the beautiful things He has created! Praise Him for giving His only begotten Son for us, who did not deserve it, but, He loved us! Dear Brother, I'm still following this thread somewhat, I haven't been able to keep up with all of the postings, and, my computer "groans" when I click on one of them. I know that this is a forum, of the which I am very thankful for, but, man, there is a little tension in some of the postings. I enjoy being involved with, and seeing some healthy discussion, and even disagreement, but, it hurts to see the children of God "bear teeth". I'm trying to follow this thread because of you, because of our discussion back in March on Romans 9. I really had a "growth spurt" then. We know from the Word that GOD is LOVE! Here is some more scripture. I'm not posting as one in authority be any means. You know that I am one of the least in knowledge as a forum member. I'm simply posting this because you are in my prayers, and, you really helped me to grow. 1 Cor 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 1 Cor 13:3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 1 Cor 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 1 Cor 13:5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 1 Cor 13:6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 1 Cor 13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Cor 13:8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. God bless you brother! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

156 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | Cyclist | 60830
Dear Brother John, Praise be to God our Father, who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, all things seen and unseen, created not by hands, but by God! Yes, praise be to our heavenly Father! As I told you my brother, I have been following this thread the best that I can. I must say that it is getting long! Some scripture came to mind as I consider the subject and the discussion. Keep in mind that I am not as mature in the faith and in the knowledge of the Word as others on this forum, whom I consider to be my elders in Christ, you included, so, I found it necessary to go directly to God's Word. Now taking into consideration that I consider these to be elders, I found myself tempted to side with this one or that one. Here are the scriptures that have helped me: 1 Cor 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Cor 1:10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Cor 1:11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you. 1 Cor 1:12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ."1 Cor 1:13 Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power. John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:14 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. I love each one in Christ that are regulars, my elders, on this forum and have really grown by reading postings by all of you. Thank you! Your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His prasie shall continually be in my mouth! |

Hi forum! I praise the Lord my God for this forum family! I have really grown from the postings of brothers, sisters, and elders! Praise you Father for the forum! This is a reposting of a questioned asked by Hank on 5/3/01. It looks like the question never really got answered. The subject was "Do demons still exist?" Here is the question: "Brent, the question may seem odd; however, there is a reason for my asking it in the way I did. The Scriptures do speak to the issue raised, clearly and unequivocally, but no one has cited them yet. The clue lies in the defining of demons. --Hank" Are there scriptures existing that have not been cited/posted? What are they? Your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

159 | angels | Matt 8:16 | Cyclist | 60668
Dear Denyse, All prasie and glory and honor to God our Father and to Jesus Christ who gave Himself for our sins! Below is a very good posting by Makarios form 2/20/02 that contains Scripture references. It was an answer to a similar question. (The tallest man in the world had a mother and a father! Even Goliath had a place of origin (Gath) and fathered offspring. In no way are the Nephilim the product of a union between fallen angels and human women. A much better question to ask is: How do you come to the conclusion that fallen angels can procreate with women since demons are described as 'evil SPIRITS' (Matthew 8:16, 12:43-45, Mark 6:7), and angels of ANY order are not given in marriage to each other or to any created thing? (Matthew 22:30, Mark 12:25, Luke 20:35) Demons (or fallen angels) can possess an individual, but they themselves cannot procreate with another individual. Also, if demons (or fallen angels) could ever procreate with women, then how do you justify such an action, since demons are the adversaries of men? (Matthew 12:45) - Makarios) Welcome to the forum! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

John, Thanks! You always take time to respond. What do you think? Do you think that the paragraph that is quoted in your post is revelation from, or inspired by, God our Father? I'm sorry but I haven't done much reading other than the Word so I do not know the author nor the author's backround, that's why I am asking. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times!
