121 | Is reverence feasible? Always? | Eph 5:33 | Cyclist | 66296
Rabbi Mark, I will praise the Lord my God because He is worthy of all praise! I will praise the Lord my God because He is loving and kind and merciful! I will praise the Lord my God who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that therin is because He has provided salvation for me through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ! Praise the name of the Lord! Thank you for taking time to respond to my post. I still have not had nor taken the time to read every post on this. As I wrote before, my job is taking 10 hours of my day and, in addition to that, I am providing care for a family member in the evenings. If I had it my way I would be on the forum at least 8 hours per day. I am some what of a juvenile to this forum and in the word of the Lord my God compared to others members, who I consider to be my elders in Christ. That being said, I will exit this thread because my dear elder Hank has labeled it as divisive and I trust his wisdom in the Lord. I want no part of a divisive thread other than to address those that attack others. As for Mommapbs, I wrote to you before that she is a dear sister in the Lord. I am thankful for her. Bless you Mommapbs! In Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

122 | Is reverence feasible? Always? | Eph 5:33 | Cyclist | 66114
Rabbi Mark, With my hands lifted up! With my mouth filled with praise! With a heart of thanksgiving! I will bless the Lord my God! Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to study the word of the Lord our God! I haven't been very active on the forum lately because I have been busy at my job. I do check in from time to time and I noticed your post. I read some of this thread and was a little disturbed by what was written to a very dear sister, Mommapbs, and to a very dear brother, Emmaus. Might I suggest that you do some research on these two members of the forum. It is simple. Just "click" on their names on this thread and you can read all of their postings. There is one particular thing that you wrote about in response to Mommapbs that I would like to respond to. You wrote "These two quotes are the perfect example of why a woman should learn in silence and not be suffered to teach. You have proven in your own words that women easily fall prey for spiritual counterfeits." How would this portion of scripture relate to that? or Does it? Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. In Christ our Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

131 | Why should we obey God? | Psalm | Cyclist | 64111
Whatever, The Lord is my rock and my salvation! I will praise Him in my heart with songs of praise the day long! You write:'"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love" means God's abiding love is based on keeping the commandsments?. Sounds counter to Paul's overall message...Doesn't God Love all Christians the same?' God's greatest commandment(s) is about love: Matt 22:35 One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, Matt 22:36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" Matt 22:37 And He said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' Matt 22:38 "This is the great and foremost commandment. Matt 22:39 "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' Matt 22:40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. When Jesus came into my life this commandment of His in John 15 was and is not a commandment to me at all, no, I desire to love others and need to love others like I need to breath daily because He, even though giving me the commandment through the scripture, also gave me the desire and the satisfaction of loving Him and others. It is indeed a commandment that, if kept, is very rewarding. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

132 | Why should we obey God? | Psalm | Cyclist | 64096
Whatever, All praise and Glory and Honor be to God our Father who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, all things seen and unseen, not made with hands, and, to His Son Jesus Christ who thought not of Himself but gave His life a ransom for our sins! Welcome to the Forum! If you are just visiting, Thanks for stopping by! This is a great place to study and learn about God's word! Just to add to mbooker's very good answer, I found in the New Testament, in John 15, some verses that give very good reason to obey God. I've listed a few but the entire chapter is good. Please read it and let me know what you think. John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:8 "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. John 15:9 "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:14 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. In the Love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

133 | women should keep silent in church | 1 Cor 14:34 | Cyclist | 63257
Wilme, I will praise the Lord my God for He is Loving and kind and just and merciful! He alone is worthy of praise, for, He gave His only begotten Son for our sins, blessed be the name of the Lord forever! I believe that your question is in reference to these verses: 1 Cor 14:34 The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says. 1 Cor 14:35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church. At the top of the page you will see a "search" for questions on notes and verses. Type in "1 Cor 14:34". Just my suggestion but click on the thread where the question is posted by kalos dated 8/23/02 "women keep silent in churchs"? there are some very good postings to help explain this. There are other threads as well. And let me extend a hearty Welcome to the forum! This is a GREAT place to study and learn about God's Word! A few suggestions if I may, Use the "QUICK SEARCH" (upper right of the page) and the "QUESTION/NOTES ON VERSES and QUESTION/NOTES ON WHOLE BOOKS" (top of the page). 134 | Welcome To New Guidelines | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 62627
Hank, I will sing of the mercies of my Lord forever! When I wake up in the moring until I lay my head to rest, songs of praise to thee my Lord will be in my heart and on my lips! Even though I am and will be tied up in projects for my company for the next 2 weeks that will take all of my time at the office and some of my personal time, I couldn't resist the urge to check in at the forum last evening. I'm glad I did so. Your post was the first one that I saw and read. It would be very heartbreaking to me and I would shed many tears if us as members stepped so far out of line on the forum that the Lockman Foundation would have no other choice but to discontinue it. This forum is a blessing to me. This forum is where I was lead when I prayed to the Father for more knowledge of His Holy Word. This forum is in my prayers continually. This forum is one of my favorite places to be. When I am down, I search in the forum and have been comforted by the Word of God. When I am up, I search in the forum and I rejoice when reading the Word of God. When I desire to learn more about scripture I search in the forum and am educated when reading the Word of God. Forum members, THANK YOU all that are regulars! Thank you for your postings. Thank you for your obedience to the Holy Spirit of God to help one like me grow. I pray for you continually. And please if I any way mistakenly, never with intent, step out of the boundries of the guidelines of this forum, please set me back on course. THANK YOU Lockman Foundation for keeping this forum on line. Thank you Hank for your posting. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God who created the heavens and he earth and the seas and all that there is therein, and that He, Jesus, came to earth, died for our sins, rose again on the third day, is at the right hand of God Almighty, is our only way to salvation, and, that He, Jesus, gave us this command; "And this is my commandment; that ye love one another as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than that a man lay down his life for his friends. Henceforth I call you not servants but I have called you friends" And so, I love you my forum friends. Thanks again Hank, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

135 | Can belief be excluded from exegesis | Ephesians | Cyclist | 62432
Dear, dear Brother in Christ, On the mountain top, I will praise Him! in the valley, I will praise Him! If I am taken down to the ocsean floor or the center of the earth, He will hear my praise! Blessed be the Lord our God! I must apologize if I misunderstood and did not address your original question. Obviously I do not yet understand theology and the meaning of exegesis and disputing(s) over interpretation of the Word of the Lord our God. In fact, there are questions that are asked on the forum and notes posted that I probably should not have responded to, and have at times refrained myself from responding to. So please, by all means my brother, re-post your question and may the blame for a double post be laid to my charge. Not that I am nor would I be offended, I am just sorry that I did not understand your question. Searcher submitted an answer also. Did you read it? Maybe that better addressed your question. Bless you brother, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

136 | Can belief be excluded from exegesis | Ephesians | Cyclist | 62409
Brother John, It is good to give thanks to our God! Thank you Father for all of the wonderful things that you do! Thank you Father for ginving Your only begotten Son who gave His life for our sins! To be honest with you, I had to look up the defenition of "exegesis". That will tell you how much of an expert I am on theology. My answer is yes dear brother, and, as far as an explanation, I will let the scripture speak for itself. Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, Eph 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, Eph 4:3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, Eph 4:6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Eph 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Eph 4:8 Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." Eph 4:9 (Now this expression, "He ascended," what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? Eph 4:10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.) Eph 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, Eph 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; Eph 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Eph 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; Eph 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, Eph 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Always your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

christian7, I will praise the Lord because He alone is worthy! I will sing praise to my God because He is loving and kind and merciful! I will praise my Lord because He saved me! My question to you is if you leave what will become of this forum? Will people like myself who are growing in Christ miss out on your knowledge of the Word and leading of the Holy Spirit of God? I have not had the pleasure of reading all of your posts but I thought you gave some good answers on the subjects of "owning expensive things" and "marriage to an unbeliver". Were your answers and posts challenged that often? I really don't know. I am speaking only for myself, but, If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, this forum needs you. Blessings to you always, whether you decide to leave or stay. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
