422 | what to say to someone who doesnt believ | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 193912
Hi Linda and welcome to the forum, Ask your friend if she is willing to let God reveal Himself to her? Ask her to read the gospel of John, which is the fourth book in the New Testament of the Bible, but before she reads it tell her to ask God to reveal Himself in it. Enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

423 | Where is America headed right now? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 194056
Greetings WW and welcome to the forum. It seems like everybody has a prediction and they are but a guess at best. The Bible has proven itself over the thousands of years of testing and has always proven to be reliable. It points to one specific person and emphasizes faith and reliance on Him and what He did for the world; that being the person of Jesus, God’s appointed one. I know a lot of so called predictions look accurate and seem reliable but the only one you can really trust in is God, and what He did for mankind in the person of His Son. Have you come to the place yet in your life where you have trusted in the person of Jesus for all your future needs? Being a Bible forum we can lead you in that direction if you would be interested? Enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

426 | are you required to be baptisted again | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 93171
Falling away, when you stop and think about it, can happen the very moment after one believes in Jesus. Falling away is the very instant that we commit our first sin after the point of salvation but that is not to say that God has forsaken us. Can we say that our sins are more refined then someone else’s therefore we haven’t fallen away, not hardly! Go has made some great promises to the believers in His Son. Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Some just take a lot longer to use I John then others, but that isn’t to say that they aren’t saved, but they are defiantly out of fellowship! 1 John 1:7-10 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Now to the baptism issue; what really counts, as baptism goes isn’t even wet, as with water, it is dry and is accomplished for the believer in Jesus automatically at the very moment that they place their faith in Christ. 1 Cor. 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. The previous verse is the sequel to the following verse. Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Assuming anything meritorious, that we might do, such as water baptism, is the antithesis to faith in Christ. The key to salvation is faith alone in Christ alone and anything we might do after that is MERELY RITUAL. We can’t improve one bit on the finish work of Christ by some puny thing that we attempt to do to help God with our salvation. It is a 100 percent done deal and Jesus gets all the credit. It isn’t 99 percent Jesus and 1 percent us with water baptism, It’s all Jesus or none at all; and those who assume differently are going to be in for a real shock some day, but if God doesn’t reveal this to them they aren’t in His family anyway so why bother trying to convince them, it can’t be done! Have a great day, CDBJ |

427 | are you required to be baptisted again | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 93191
Greetings, You must have my post confused with someone else’s post since my post was to believers regarding fellowship and baptism. Your reference answer was using Revelation 2:4,5 which is speaking to a general assembly of believers and the threat of removing their candle, which evidently happened, because we don’t get much light with regard to God’s Word out of Ephesus know days now do we. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

428 | is the devil still in haven | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 96714
It is my understanding that the devil isn’t bared from heaven until Rev. 12:12, during the great time of persecution and the last 3 ½ years of 7 years known as the time of Jacob’s trouble or the great tribulation, where he will demand the worship of the world. Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Luke 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 2 Thes. 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Rev. 13:16-18 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Matthew 24:15-22 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened 2 Thes. 1:6-10 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. They all tie together so that we aren’t in darkness being believers that study God’s Word as we are commanded. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Have a great day, CDBJ |

430 | Why should we pray? | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 106553
Did you ever stop and think that they might not know the Lord personally, and if they don’t, the Lord won’t hear their prayer anyway; at least they aren’t being hypocrites? Don’t try to force something onto people that haven’t had a personal relationship with the living Lord. That’s like getting a shot for the flu; the virus that you get is dead and inoperative so that your body wards off the real thing. Matthew 7:20-23 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. It sounds to me like they need Jesus, not just an imitation and a life style that mimics things that believers do! Sitting in a garage all day won’t make you an automobile, just because they do things that a believer do won't give them a living spirit. 1 Cor. 2:1-2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Feed them a large dose of the book of John. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. 431 | Works of the OT Holy Spirit vs NT | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 107083
Greeting Checho, The language that I look for, with reference to people on the forum, is spoken very well by you, and that is God’s Word! You introduce you self by using God’s Word and lifting up Jesus and not some denomination; you end with the salutation of, in Christ! It doesn’t get any better then that. Romans 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 433 | when will jesus christ return | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 107323
Hi Norm, The return of the Lord, as a thief in the night, is the term used to express what his return will be like to those who aren’t looking for him. I Thes. 5:3 mentions the word, they and them, which is a ref. to unbelievers. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. Verse 4 shows the believers that the Lord’s return won’t be like a thief, to those who are looking for him. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Paul had explained the conditions and signs that would be present, before the Lord’s return to the Thes. 2 Thes. 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? There are numerous passages in scripture that explain the conditions and signs that will come to pass right up to the Lord’s return but people like to twist them around to mean something different even in the face of warning! Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Mark 13:4-5 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 5And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Have a great day, CDBJ |

434 | when will jesus christ return | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 107348
Hi Just me, I got a chuckle from your post. Did you proof read it before you sent it? You stated, “I believe we should live and plan as if Jesus will not come in our lifetime.” Then you went on to say,” I believe we should expect His return at anytime and as Jesus said we are to "be ready". It sounds like you plan on dying real soon if that’s the case? Are you advocating Luke 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. Just kidding, I have done this myself a few times, CDBJ |

435 | RAPTURE: PRE-TRIBULATION OR NOT? | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 108063
Hi Rex, This theory was adopted in the early 1800’s and it basically gets it’s thrust from, 1 Thes. 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, This being said, people conclude that we won’t go through the great tribulation because they erroneously assume that the tribulation is the work of God, but the way I see it, it is the work of Satan in his last attempt to distroy God's elect. Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Satan has been trying to kill the Jews for years and if he can’t get to them the Christians will do just fine. Rev. 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. This is the time, that last 3 ½ years called the great tribulation and is the same period spoken of by Jesus with reference to Daniel. Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) This is further expounded on by Paul in his letters to the Thessalonians. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Why all of the warnings if the believers aren’t going to be here?? It looks like general Christendom, with the pretribulation theory, has fallen for the deception ploy that they have been warned against! Have a great day, CDBJ |

436 | Was Adam and Eve's fall a good thing? | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 109288
Welcome to the forum, I was going to start of by saying Hi Water, but I starter laughing and decided to change it. I think the answer to your question resides in a verse found in I Cor. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. What this is telling us is that until a person is actually born of the Spirit, the things contained in God’s Word won’t make any sense to them. Jesus said this same thing in the book of John. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. The word see, in the English comes to us from the Koine Greek word EIDO; and it means perception or understanding. The best thing that anyone can do to help someone understand Scripture is to expound on the person of Jesus and what he has done for them so that they will put all of their faith and trust in Him and as a result God will cause them to be born again. John 3:7-8 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. The key to understanding the whole Bible resides in the person of Jesus, the Son of God. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. 438 | Noah Being Divinely Warned | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 109450
Hi Bradk, My opinion is that it was a general statement that was directed to Noah but the fact that it said man makes it all-inclusive. We are finding the same thing happening today. The SAME DAY that Noah and his family entered that ark of safety God clobbered those that were left behind! Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the SAME DAY were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. I am sure that the Lord gave all of them ample warning just as he dose today about the impending wrath that is to come but they, the arrogant, didn’t give heed then just as they don’t today. 2 Peter 3:3-6 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: Notice, THEY and THEM, with reference to the unbelievers as pointed out in I Thess. 1 Thes. 5:1-4 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3For when THEY shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon THEM, as travail upon a woman with child; and THEY shall not escape. 4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. In conclusion I don’t believe that they heeded the message then anymore then THEY, unbelievers, do today. Noah wasn’t in darkness then any more then believers are in darkness now. Luke 17:26-29 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27THEY did eat, they drank, they married wives, THEY were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed THEM all. 28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; THEY did eat, THEY drank, THEY bought, THEY sold, THEY planted, THEY builded; 29But the SAME DAY that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed THEM all. I wonder what happened to those that were LEFT BEHIND? No second chance mentioned; if people put off trusting in Christ too long, some day, it will be too late! Ephes. 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. There are a lot of people being deceived into thinking that if they are left behind that THEY will get another chance to be saved. Have a great day, CDBJ |

439 | Pastor or Daddy? | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 110082
The best advice I could give in a situation like this is the following. Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. The Lord knows your situation and He can give you the answer but remember the only one that you can change is yourself. Have a great day, CDBJ |

There is a point at which we do this in our church, besides after a moving song, and that's when someone follows the Lord in baptism. I don't know about the rest of our congregation but it brings tears to my eyes and I always thank the Lord.
