341 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | CDBJ | 217033
Why pray tell would one want to imitate the Jews who, as a whole, have rejected the Lord Jesus as the Christ and as a result God has cut them off so that He could graft in the gentiles who have trusted in Him? Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Most of Israel for years has done nothing more then put on a big act one of which any self-respecting believer in our precious Saviour Jesus would not want to emulate by exercising Jewish traditions and habits. Romans 4:8-11 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. 9Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. 10How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 11And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: Carrying on the traditions of rebellious Jews isn’t the answer. If that was what God wanted it would be very easy for Him to save more Jews. I am of the seed of Abraham by faith, not by traditions that mean nothing. Romans 9:7-8 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. It looks like there are gentiles that like to play the same game that Peter played only in reverse. Galatians 2:11-15 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. 12For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. 13And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. 14But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? 15We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, The lord chose me as who I am to preach and further the gospel and playing the game of hypocrisy as a Jew would only frustrate the grace of God that is in me. 1 Cor. 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 2 Cor. 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. Why saved gentile would want to put on a phony façade and try to sound and act like a Jew literally blows my mind! Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. We can’t impress God with some kind of a act that we put on: the only thing that impresses God is what His Son Jesus Christ did on the cross and the sooner humans believe it the better off they’ll be! John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Romans 10:1-3 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. This is the last that I will be posting to this subject it is futile. My final two cents worth, CDBJ |

342 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | CDBJ | 216995
Greetings, As far as you are concerned, where do the following fit into your program of the path? Acts 15:24-29 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: 25It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Suppose one steps off of this path that you speak of then what is their demise? From your perspective, taking into consideration your primary verse of Matt 7:13; what is the way or path referring to in the next verse: keeping it all in context? Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. You speak of keeping the commandments which is a plural word in the Koine Greek but the last word in Matt7:14 is the word “IT” which is “AUTOS” in the Greek and it is a pronoun in the singular: something isn’t adding up with regards to the path or way that you are suggesting?? 345 | Hello and thank you azurelaw | Mark 12:31 | CDBJ | 216878
Greetings, Thank him for his gracious insult and lack of love then pack your bag and leave because you are heading into a controlling situation that you will regret the rest of your life. Your “friend” is taking text out of context for a pretext! 1 Cor. 13:1-8 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. Hi John, Paul had informed those in Thessalonica personally about the things that would be taking place just before the Lord’s return but they were neglecting to assimilate the doctrine that he had taught them and apply it to their experience. Paul told them that they would be persecuted but that the Lord would avenge those that will be doing the persecution even though it will seem like He delays His vengeance on their part. When Paul uses the words “they and them” he is referring to those outside of Christ or those that don’t obey the gospel message. When he uses the words “we and us”, it’s a reference to those that have believed the gospel message and have trusted in Christ Jesus. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. Things are going to get so bad that believers will assume that the Lord has delayed His coming because they are under the assumption that believers wouldn’t be going through such hard times but the Lord is a Just judge. Luke 18:1-8 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? There is a time coming when the Lord will receive prayer from His believers from both sides of the grave because of the intense persecution. Rev. 6:9-10 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? The Lord’s return will seem like it is way overdue to many who have been deceived into believing that they will escape the torture that is to come from the deceiver. 2 Thes. 1:5-6 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; There is a time coming when believers will think that they missed the rapture because they have been told that they would be removed before the great persecution by antichrist takes place but Christ and Paul taught otherwise. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. I personally “do not like the thought of this” but it’s the Lord’s purpose and design and He can give me the grace to go through it if I don’t loose heart. Luke 18:7-8 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? CDBJ |

Greetings, I have read just about everything I can on eschatology and to date "The Sign" is the most accurate that I have come across. I was able to talk with the author about a year before he went home to be with the Lord and I was very impressed with his knowledge of future events, which he pulled from the Old Testament as well as the New. The beauty of his book is the way he pulled all of the Scripture together so that there weren’t any verses that seemed to contradict each other. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Greetings, The answer to your question is the same exact thing that will cause it in the final century church only it will be worse. Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Rev. 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Rev. 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. CDBJ |

This is a reference to those that don’t know Bible doctrine, or they are outside of Christ. 1 Thes. 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. The next verse covers those that do know Bible doctrine. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. What is the sign of His coming, I can’t speak for you or what you know. 1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The disciples ask Christ what the signs would be and he gave them the answer to their three-part question. Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? Have we been deceived as to when the Lord will return? Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 2 Thes. 2:3 (A) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; CDBJ |

354 | Rapture | 1 Thess 4:17 | CDBJ | 216811
Greetings Vantage 68, Do you believe that as God’s children we will have a close idea as to when this time, we call the rapture, will take place? When the Scripture says "the day or the hour" that is being relatively close don’t you think; how about the times and the seasons, that leaves us an approximation? The Bible is explicit in telling us when God will take vengeance on those that persecute His elect. 2 Thes. 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. It appears as though God is going to accomplish two separate events on the same day, remove His believers, at the rapture, and pour out His wrath on unbelievers who are left, both events on the same day; much the same as He did during the days of Noah and Lot. 355 | can a child be baptised | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 216722
Greetings, I have a hard enough time studying God’s Word, the Bible, in the hours that have been allotted to me for study time. If I would spend time “trying” to examine all of the world’s false doctrines there would be no time left for truth. Our treasury department couldn’t begin to examine all of the false bills that are being produced, so they spend all their time knowing the real thing so that any fake bills stands out like a sore thumb. I think that concept builds a good standard regarding the Christian way of life. 2 Tim. 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth. 356 | can a child be baptised | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 216690
Greetings, The Bible does not say one way or the other in regards to this situation but what it does say is this. Acts 8:26-40 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, "Arise and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza." (This is a desert road.) 27And he arose and went; and behold, there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he had come to Jerusalem to worship. 28And he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29And the Spirit said to Philip, "Go up and join this chariot." 30And when Philip had run up, he heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" 31And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this: "HE WAS LED AS A SHEEP TO SLAUGHTER; AND AS A LAMB BEFORE ITS SHEARER IS SILENT, SO HE DOES NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH. 33"IN HUMILIATION HIS JUDGMENT WAS TAKEN AWAY; WHO SHALL RELATE HIS GENERATION? FOR HIS LIFE IS REMOVED FROM THE EARTH." 34And the eunuch answered Philip and said, "Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself, or of someone else?" 35And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. 36And as they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" 37[And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."] 38And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch saw him no more, but went on his way rejoicing. 40But Philip found himself at Azotus; and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea. The key to when a person should be baptized is found in verses 36 and 37. When anyone believes that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God nothing then should hinder him or her from being baptized. This critical point of information may come at different craniological ages in a person’s life. An infant does not have the ability to understand this critical point of doctrine. To baptize an infant would be like plugging an appliance into a receptacle that isn’t connected to the power source, until certain conditions are met it is useless and not according to God’s protocol. Trusting in Jesus as ones Saviour and knowing that He is God’s Son is paramount to baptism. "If you believe with all your heart, you may." Have a great day, CDBJ |

357 | Christologically Pregnant Passages | Titus 2:13 | CDBJ | 216685
Hi Tim, All I am saying is that it couldn’t be the word Son; the Greek Interlinear points out the Koine IDIOU which could refer to The Lord or God. The poster suggested "blood of his own son". If the word Son were to be used in place of God or Lord in the English it would have to have been translated from HUIOS which would be in the masculine gender but it is in the neuter gender of EDIOU or Him self which in essence has to infer that the blood was that of Christ and as a result Jesus Christ is God since God doesn't have blood as God but when God took on the form of a man He then had blood and was able to pay the price demanded for our sin. Hebrews 9:22 And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. CDBJ |

358 | Christologically Pregnant Passages | Titus 2:13 | CDBJ | 216666
The reference mentioned, "blood of his own son" isn't the implication here because the word used comes from the word IDIOU an adjective which is in the genetive, neuter, singular. The genetive is that of source, i.e. is God and if it ment the Son it would be masculine gender but it's in the neuter. CDBJ |

360 | follow up to 1 corinth 15 question | 1 Cor 15:52 | CDBJ | 216288
Greetings, I believe it is a righteous thing with God that His believers endure the persecution that will be poured out by the adversary in the lasts days. Those persecuting the saints will be the target for God’s reaction towards them. 2 Thes. 1:4-6 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; I think the Lord will supply the grace that it will take to endure this time of vengeance and that many will not be ready for that which is coming. A good heading for the following verses would be the persecution of God’s elect in the final days! Luke 17:28-37 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. 31In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 32Remember Lot's wife. 33Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 34I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 37And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. This is a Hebraism that tells us that where justice is needed God will surely measure it out, even though it will seem long in coming to the little one of God that are going through it as the following parable explains. God will avenge those going through this persecution even though it seems like He won’t according to their timing. Rev. 6:9-17 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. 12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? The faith of many will be shattered during the final days of the church because they have been deluded into thinking that they will not have to endure such persecution! 2 Thes. 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Have a great day, CDBJ |
