Galatians 4:4 says Jesus came in the fullness of time. But what I don't fully understand, is why did'nt Jesus come as soon as Adam and Eve had sinned? I think it would've stopped all the useless sacrifices for sin and alot of the wars that happened in the old testament. I mean could'nt God have sent His Son a little earlier than He did? | ||||||

God’s plan is perfect. It is the Hollywood formula that God is on a soul-winning campaign, in a contest with the devil. This formula pretends that Satan is almost as powerful as God. Anyone who believes the Hollywood formula would have to believe that God is an abysmal failure. This is obviously a flawed thesis. The sacrifices only became useless after the sacrifice of Christ (the Lamb) caused them to no longer be needed. “…For even Christ, our Passover, is sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:7). Even during the ministry of Christ, prior to his death and resurrection, there were only the 70 appointed (Luke 10:1) in addition to the 12 Christ called (Matthew 10:1). Christ also chose the 12 and one of them was “diabolos” (in the Greek), a slanderer opposing the cause of God (John 6:70). God is not in a numbers game. His emphasis is on quality of character. “For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14). Character development takes time and experience. It cannot be created by fiat. The roughly less than 4000 years of trial and error in human behavior before the birth of Christ was not in vain. The chosen nation was not only an example of good behavior and good consequence but also an example of bad behavior and bad consequence. “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come” (1 Corinthians 10:11). It is the Son of man who does the choosing. “You have not chose me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit…” (John 15:16). However, being called and being chosen is not enough. To be a member of the Lamb’s headquarters team we must be called, chosen, and faithful. “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:14). |
