Exodus 28:31-35 describes the high priest's dress to perform the atonement day procedures and the penalty of death if not followed. (Note Lev. 16:2; Num. 18:7.) Also, he experienced a symbolic death every time he entered the Most Holy, too. (Heb 9:27) But there's nothing suggesting "high priests" going behind the tabernacle with a bell and a rope attached so when the bell rang they knew that he was dead! |
