Hi Bill, I know what you are saying and it seems that we are always looking for a way to get, as it were, even a toe in the door so that the opportunity to present God’s solution for man’s problem can be explained. I had an uncle that I constantly witnessed to. He was very bitter and resentful of God due to a bad experience losing close friends during the war. They sure can’t stop us from praying for them and trying to spoon feed them. 2 Cor. 4:3-4 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, [4] whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. Thanks again, CDBJ. That is one of the verses I had in mind when I said his heart had been hardened and eyes blinded, among other things. Prayer does seem to be the only way in some cases. Matt. 7:6 - "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." The treasure of the Gospel cannot be given in obvious pearls to those who reject it outright, but we can leave a trial of crumbs for them to follow, sometimes, and hope that, by God's grace, they are part of the elect, despite their former and present behavior, and His grace and power in Jesus Christ will call them to repentance and eternal life. Thank you again, Brother, and God bless and keep you. And oh, if you do happen to recall any of those passages of the razed lands that remain barren to this day, that would be a blessing, as well. :O) |

Hi Bill, I just rebooted the computer on the top of my shoulders and came up with a few you might be able to use; check them out? Isaiah 13:19-22 And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans' pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. [20] It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there, Nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there. [21] But desert creatures will lie down there, And their houses will be full of owls, Ostriches also will live there, and shaggy goats will frolic there. [22] And hyenas will howl in their fortified towers And jackals in their luxurious palaces. Her fateful time also will soon come And her days will not be prolonged. Jeremiah 49:18 "Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors," says the Lord, "no one will live there, nor will a son of man reside in it. Deut. 29:23 'All its land is brimstone and salt, a burning waste, unsown and unproductive, and no grass grows in it, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and in His wrath.' Have a great day, CDBJ |
