hi could someone please tell me why the Catholic Church does not allow divorce on adultry but the Church of England does and the interpretation of Jesus word through the scriptures. | ||||||

Dear Fudges, I'm not an expert on ecclesiology but for what it's worth is my opinion. First of all they are two different denominations and "divorce" is only one of many differences between them. They each interpret the Bible differently. Jesus said that God hates divorce. That does not mean that it is forbidden under all circumstances. Scripture spells out under what circumstances divorce is permissable and I'm sure you can find it yourself without trouble. God Bless, John |
