1 | Multiple authors for Paul's epistles? | NT general Archive 1 | Makarios | 9747 | ||
Hello Debbie! Would you mind quoting the commentary on a verse or two like 1 Cor. 1:1 or Philemon 1 out of your "Spirit Filled Life Bible" so that they can explain somewhat why they believe that all of these books were written with stenographers? I appreciate your response, Deb! All the resources that I have so far have not helped me here, but I will keep digging. Thanks again! Your Brother in Christ, Nolan |

Both of those just attribute the letter as being written by Paul. For 1 Thes.1:1 "Paul shared authorship of 1 and 2 Thess. with Silvanus and Timothy. Timothy a young Jewish understudy of Paul, also joined with Paul in the writing of 2 Cor., Pil., Col., and Philem. Silvanus, known as Silas in Acts, was a leader in the church in Jerusalem (Acts 15:22) and a prophet (Acts 15:32). Later Silvanus shared in the writing of 1 Pet. (5:12). He was therefore an associate both of Peter and Paul. I never really thought about it before, but I also think that the letters were kind of a joint effort, or at least read by the others mentioned who may have also had inspiration from God and were included. I've seen it happen in church where one will prophesy and another will add to it. Hope it helped. Deb |

Blessings Debbie! This remains an interesting question of mine.. I appreciate the information! Thank you, Debbie, and I agree with you when you say that sometimes we feel 'a little closer than even with our own family' as we share with each other in Christ! You will always be welcome to our fellowship! :) Nolan |
