1 | Where does Cain's wife come from? | OT general | George1988 | 195565
Hello I have a question regarding Genesis chapter 4 verse 15-17. Cain has murdered Abel and has gone to live in the land of Nod, east of Eden. Verse 17 says "Cain lay with his wife and she became pregnant" My question is, where did his wife come from? Adam and even only gave birth to Cain and Abel, so they are the only 4 human beings on the planet, and only 1 (Eve) was female so where did Cain's wife come from? Please clear up my confusion and God bless. Thank you. |

No! It absolutely it does not say what you have said! There is no 8 day creation taught in scripture. Simply read Genesis chapters 1 and 2. Also, see Genesis 4:1 and you will see that God's word teaches that Adam is the father of Cain. These teachings of 8th day creationist are so ridiculous I'm left wondering if your objective is not to intentionally deceive and mislead. Steve |

Try reading it in something other then the Hebrew bible. Perhaps it will not be as confusing to you. |

beguile in Hebrew, nasha, can mean to "morally" seduce, but also to lead astray or to mentally delude. The latter two meanings fall into the context of the conversation that took place between the serpent and Eve, and the last meaning fits perfectly. Be careful when using only one interpretation when there are more - you'll find yourself in much trouble trying to get out of the mire!

And an Amen! to Azure. Nightmare, the line of Cain was destroyed in the Flood. Biblical genealogies are given to prove the heritage of the Promised One. The line of Adam to Seth goes to the line of Noah and his sons, who alone began the line that would lead to Messiah. That is what all the genealogies are presented for. Before you post again, I would suggest you yourself re-read Genesis, and get your facts straight, dear. |
