2 | people before Adam and Eve?? yes or no | OT general | Hank | 111361
Check out Genesis 1:22 in modern translations; they use "fill" not "replenish." Refer to a good English dictionary to discover that "to replenish" means "to fill" as well as "to fill again." It had still another meaning (now obsolete) in the days when the KJV was translated, which was "to supply fully; to perfect." But the sense in which the KJV uses "replenish" never meant refill or replace a race of people who lived before Adam; Scripture gives no indication whatever that there were human beings on earth before Adam. Therefore, neither this passage, Genesis 1:22 nor any other biblical passage supports the premise for pre-adamic human life on earth. --Hank
