I can only relate something i know or read. According to Acts 2 there were over a dozen nations there on Pentecost. they heard someone speaking in their own tongue. It would be like someone from Isreal that could not speak English and he would come to one of our church's and when he spoke we would hear it in English. that is what took place on Pentecost. All my respect to tongue speakers, but I feel you use this gift as a "Spiritual Status Marker". I do no feel this was the original idea. Futhermore, here in Chile I have been to conferences where notable "tongue speakers" had to use non-christian interpreters to issue their sermons. Why? Is this gift something you loose when you need it? Please forgive the spun... |
