Johnny There is nothing improper about cremation. When the body dies it goes through a process of decay or oxidation. Burning is nothing more than speeding up the process or rapid oxidation. Look in your chemistry books. Death in the USA has become big business and a typical funeral costs about 6,000-10,000 dollars while a typical cremation can be done for under 1000. It is in the funeral homes best interest to insure people are buried rather than cremated. That is why they always say “if that is how you want your loved one to be treated” when being asked about the option of cremation. The question is who do you want to make richer, your estate or the funeral home? I refuse to make a funeral home rich by my death because they have been able to promote the idea that “the money spent on a funeral is directly related to the degree of love you held for the person and your sorrow of their lost”. I have instructed my heirs to insure I get cremated and done as inexpensive as possible. Dust to dust and ashes to ashes cremation just makes the process faster. It ain’t me anyhow, it is my “earth suit” I’ll be home with Jesus! EdB |

EdB, It is your own definition that cremation is not improper. What I did in my last post is to get a biblical fact and not with your sciencetific fact. If you not agree with the scriptures that I quoted of what joseph, moses done to the bones of thier fathers, it is not me you are argued with it is the scriptures. Are you saying that what they done is not right? If I am going to follow those kind of caring to the bones of my father did I made wrong? I just want to get the example from them it is wrong or not? and beside even the human body Jesus Christ have been buried but not cremated, if we are going to follow the example what is right buried or cremated? If the cremation is the truly right process, it could be encourage by Jesus Christ and desciples to make process faster as you said. Or are we saying that they dont have Idea about this yet? Jesus Christ, no I dont think so! God bless, Johnny |

Johnny Your right you did no wrong. However by your reasoning you didn't do it right either. Joseph carried the bones of their father on the grave on donkey or horse I'll imagine you would probably used a vehicle. The others in the others in the Bible hand carried the bodies to the grave again you probably will use a vehicle. You say what’s the difference. The difference is your saying we have to do it exactly like it is in the Bible or we are doing it wrong. I'm saying if it is done with dignity and honor the process of laying to rest the earth remains is immaterial. Also notice David had Saul’s and Jonathan’s remains cremated. EdB |

EdB, I did not say that we have to do it the same but the example itself. I dont know what you are trying to say that I have to use donky or any vehicle. Those are not important of what kind of transport are we going to use but the caring. You thinking that I am still in grade I in that example? it can upset sometimes... but God bless, Johnny |

Johnny I said the Bible does not specify burial or cremation and there is no prohibition against cremation. I then explained that both were really the same process only cremation takes place on a much faster scale. You had said, “since the only example in the bible was burial therefore we are to bury and by default that makes cremation unacceptable.” I then said, “if we use that reasoning or logic since vehicles were never mentioned in the bible as a proper way to transport a dead person then most certainly the only acceptable way to get a body to the cemetery would be by carrying it or by donkey.” Your logic is based on the premise that because it isn’t mentioned in the bible or that the Bible only shows it done this way this is the only way it can be done. And I’m saying if you hold to that logic then you must do every thing exactly like the Bible specifies which includes carrying the body rather than transporting it by vehicle. It would also preclude the use of caskets since the bodies of bible times was wrapped in linen and embalming since the bodies were packed in spices. EdB |
