Thank you Hugger for your responce. We do not go to church because my husband will not go. He says the churches around here are not good and we get the best church around when we watch TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) He is a christian and we give regularly for the last 10 or so years to these churches that we watch on TBN. He says this is what ministers to us and you can not get any better. I argue the fact that we can help others by going to church but he says we can help others any where we go. I would like to go to church with my kids but he will not let us go without him. So, here I am fighting my battles against the enemy (Satan) we are winning some battles but its been a long and hard battle. I have always felt that maybe it would not be so hard if we would obey and go to church. Or is having church at home so to say just as good. I know I am saved no matter what but it does just bother me and I thought I would ask. Thank you again for your time. In his love, openhart2god |

Dear openhart2god, I would be praying for your husband to be more balanced. You are right about being involved with a local church would give you better opportunities to serve others in a more personal atmosphere. Fellowshipping with other believers (in person, not through t.v.) is part of a balanced, spirit filled life. Even though your husband doesn't want you to go to a local church....you may still be able to serve in one of their outreach ministries or something like that to fulfill your need to serve and help others. Ask the Lord for those opportunities and He will open doors for you. Continue to pray for your husbands spiritual life too. It sounds like he is unbalanced in his view of the purpose of the local church and the function it plays in a believers life. The church is more than just a place to go and be ministered to, like you have said you can help others through a local church. The Bible says in Heb. 10:25 'Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another...and all the more as you see the Day approaching.' As I have said in my previous post that God looks on the heart. There are circumstances that would prevent some from attending a local church but it doesn't sound like your husband is in that category. He is the one who is choosing to not attend a local church. Keep praying and don't give up! Maybe it would be better if one of the brothers on this forum would respond to your question. Someone who might be able to discern where your husband is coming from. It is my experience that the Lord will not hold you accountable for your husband's leading in the family and therefore you need not worry about the hard battles....we all have some and you will not have more because of what your husband is doing or not doing. I believe that those thoughts are from the accuser (Satan). He is always accusing God of being hard or unfair or whatever...don't give in to those thoughts...cast them out in the name of Jesus. I pray the Lord will minister to you and your family and open your husband's eyes to the truth. In His Love, Hugger |
