One of the strongest evidences that God authored the Bible is its consistency from decade to decade, generation to generation. The Bible was written by many people, under the influence of the Holy Spirit (God). The Old Testament prophesies that were written hundreds of years apart, but all fulfilled in Jesus Christ as we read in the New Testament is but one example of the consistency that transcends thousands of years. That could not be "by coincidence" or by "accident." There is one author of the Bible--God--who used many people to write what He intended to be written. |

Good answer, Endeavor, regarding the consistence of the Bible along with the fulfilling of prophecy in Christ. A true test of a prophet was whether or not the prophecy happened. The Bible also offers no other claim than "This is what the LORD said..." nor does God justify to man His existence or His purposes. Josh McDowell in his revised "The New Evidence...," says something like this: Proof can remove logical stumbling blocks but only the Holy Spirit can convince any one of the real message of Bible and that is a relationship with God through Christ by faith in what He has done. | ||||||
