Gracefull: Even though I did not find any verse in the Bible in which "release" is used together with "faith", I have found some teaching on the subject of releasing one's faith. My sincere thanks for your reply to my note. Grace and peace, Radioman2 :-) ____________________ THE FORCE OF FAITH: The Teachings of Kenneth Copeland [Note: Numbers within or at the end of sentences are footnote numbers. To read the footnotes providing reference sources for this article, go to: (www.equip.org/free/DC755-2.htm)] 'Of the multiple views of faith held by Faith teachers,10 Copeland focuses primarily on an understanding of faith as a force. "Faith is a power force," he claims. "It is a tangible force. It is a conductive force."11 Moreover, "faith is a spiritual force....It is substance. Faith has the ability to effect natural substance."12 As "the force of gravity...makes the law of gravity work...this force of faith...makes the laws of the spirit world function."13 'Copeland affirms that "God cannot do anything for you apart or separate from faith,"14 for "faith is God's source of power" (emphasis in original).15 Moreover, "everything that you're able to see or touch, anything that you can feel, anything that's perceptive to the five physical senses, was originally the faith of God, and was born in the substance of God's faith."16 In other words, "faith was the raw material substance that the Spirit of God used to form the universe."17 'Copeland adds that "God used words when He created the heaven and the earth....Each time God spoke, He RELEASED his FAITH - the creative power to bring His words to pass."18 For "words are spiritual containers,"19 and the "force of FAITH is RELEASED by words."20 'Copeland derives his definition of faith from Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (KJV). He interprets the word "substance" as some transcendent, primary element that makes up the universe; it was and is activated by spoken words at the onset of creation (both God's original creation of the world and all subsequent creations, whether by God or man). 'Contrary to Copeland's view, the word translated "substance" in the King James Version is the Greek word hypostasis which, in the context of Hebrews 11:1, means "an assured impression, a mental realizing."21 Far from being some tangible material or energetic force, faith is a channel of living trust stretching from man to God. It is an assurance that God's promises never fail, even if sometimes we do not experience their fulfillment during our mortal existence. Other translations render hypostasis more precisely as "being sure" (NIV), "to be sure" (TEV), and "assurance" (NASB). 'Neither the original Greek text nor any of the modern translations support Copeland's understanding of faith. The same holds true for his understanding of spoken words. Besides, the idea of words functioning as faith-filled containers makes no sense if there is no such thing as a "force of faith" (requiring packaging and transportation) in the first place. ____________________ The Teachings of Kenneth Copeland. Hi radioman, "'Of the multiple views of faith held by Faith teachers,10 Copeland focuses primarily on an understanding of faith as a force. "Faith is a power force," he claims. "It is a tangible force. It is a conductive force."11 Moreover, "faith is a spiritual force....It is substance. Faith has the ability to effect natural substance."12 As "the force of gravity...makes the law of gravity work...this force of faith...makes the laws of the spirit world function."13" Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. NAS (5) - assurance, 2; confidence, 2; nature, 1 'Copeland affirms that "God cannot do anything for you apart or separate from faith,"14 for "faith is God's source of power" (emphasis in original).15 Moreover, "everything that you're able to see or touch, anything that you can feel, anything that's perceptive to the five physical senses, was originally the faith of God, and was born in the substance of God's faith."16 In other words, "faith was the raw material substance that the Spirit of God used to form the universe."17 Note the key phrase (for you) without faith Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Also grace, righteousness, new birth, and Holy Spirit baptism to name a few others. Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." God did frame the worlds and all things by faith and His Word. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. John 1:2-4 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. ALL THINGS 'Copeland adds that "God used words when He created the heaven and the earth....Each time God spoke, He RELEASED his FAITH - the creative power to bring His words to pass."18 For "words are spiritual containers,"19 and the "force of FAITH is RELEASED by words."20 Remember Hebrews 11:3..worlds framed by faith... then listen to Genesis 1 Genesis 1:33 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. Genesis 1:6 Then God said, "Let there be an (13) expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." ETC.. Besides, the idea of words functioning as faith-filled containers makes no sense if there is no such thing as a "force of faith" (requiring packaging and transportation) in the first place. Matthew 12:35-37 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Man will have to account for EVERY IDLE WORD. Why is man going to be held so accountable if words are merely communicated thoughts of little value? What happens in the spirit world when man speaks? This verse does not merely state that we will be judged for the thoughts and intents of the heart, but for every idle word that proceeds from the heart, not JUST the heart...I wonder why? God bless |

Hi Graceful-when we see our bridegroom-the one who has paid for all our sins--we will be "judged "by Him for our work in His service-to return to the law in any way -denies His work-this is a big problem in the church today-as well as in the first century--see whole book Galatians.
4 | Release and Faith Question | Rev 22:18 | gracefull | 91523
Hi angel9, We are righteous before God through FAITH in Jesus.Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: We are justified by FAITH in Jesus. Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. The process of sanctification is the process of growing up in Him according to His purpose for each of us and is the product OF already being under His grace. Grace is the WOMB we are in as we grow up and develop into the image of Jesus. When we deliver, we will see Him face to face! God bless |

hi Graceful-thx for reply-I was with you right up to that "grace is womb" statement.the word is clear that grace is a gift that we accept by entering through the Door-Jesus- and are born at that time. we have already been "delivered" when we are born of the Spirit. in Him angel9

hi Graceful-thx for reply-I was with you right up "to that "grace is womb" statement.the word is clear that grace is a gift that we accept by entering through the Door-Jesus- and are born at that time. we have already been "delivered" when we are born of the Spirit. in Him angel9" You are correct...we born again spirits.. This is an ANALOGY of the protecting ongoing grace of God while we abide here in the flesh. When I believe the Lord dropped it in my spirit, I too hesitated..but then began to see what it means in scripture. The baby in the womb is protected from the 'world' just as we as believers have been protected from eternal damnation. We are encircled by the grace of God. This grace (womb) provides a safe haven from fear of death(spiritual and physical because we KNOW we are heaven bound) allowing us to grow up in Christ. While we are still in the world we are not OF the world. And although persections and trials may come..our spirit man is safe in the womb of grace...and if we sin we have an advocate, we repent...but we remain safe spiritually within the womb of grace. And last but not least...the umbilical cord of the Holy Spirit is the connection with the Father constantly 'feeding' us in the Word of truth, our spiritual food. He is seal of the promise of a safe delivery to our Father... If it still does not make sense, maybe it will later. I find it very comforting knowing God's grace is 'surrounding' me. If this analogy does not work for you, just toss it! God bless |
