1 | army | Josh 5:14 | Hank | 106996
Buddhist 2 -- "Why would god need an army?" ..... First of all, in compliance with standard English usage, you should capitalize the word "God" when referring to the one and only God of all things. And Scripture never uses the awkward construction of "he/she" in reference to God. .... Secondly, the scriptural answer to your question is that God does not "need" anything (see Acts 17:25); however, Scripure is replete with examples where God chose to use human vessels to carry out His purpose. ..... I don't know whether I'm addressing a Buddhist. From your user name and in view of a complete lack of any auxiliary information about you, I assume I am. If you are Buddhist, what prompts you to use a Christian forum such as this? If you come to it with a sincere spirit of wanting to learn about God's word, you are most welcome. If, on the other hand, you come merely as kibitzer or scoffer, you will discover early on that this will not be tolerated. So, are you Buddhist and what do you wish to do for the Forum and have it do for you? We'd all appreciate honest answers to these questions. --Hank

3 | for give me. | Josh 5:14 | EdB | 107079
Buddhist 2 I believe the common thread between all people is the desire to worship and serve deity. The thing that separates people is how they go about this. In some cases they create a God to worship, in other they deny a God to worship thus trying to fulfill that need by denying it exist and in still others they search in earnest and find the one true God to worship. Buddhism prizes high moral standards and cite Jesus as such a man possessing high standards. However they overlook one very important teaching of Jesus. He said to only way to God was through Him. Either Buddhism has judged Jesus wrong and He wasn’t a man possessing high moral standards and therefore was lying when He said this. Or Buddhism is wrong and Jesus is the only way to God. EdB |
