1 | Inquiring minds want to know. | 2 Tim 2:23 | Sandman | 14596 | ||
Interesting use of sarcasm. Instead of edifying brothers of Christ, you have revealed the true substance of your own character. Sarcasm does not have a place on this forum. "We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know." 1 Cor. 8:1-2 "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." Eph. 4:2 Sandman |

Brian, I would do so, though I'm not sure exactly what you're after or exactly what you have in mind. But whether you or Radioman get back to me, I know in time I will gain a better understanding of what you desire. Keep me updated. The purpose of my note was to curb Radioman's flippant answers to tough Biblical questions. New believers, whether they are students (by students I assume you to mean those still in school) or whether they are old and gray; each believer has questions on their minds. In school, one was always encouraged to speak up about any question they had, because "there are no stupid questions." Every question represents confusion, misunderstanding, or curiosity on the part of the person who asks. With that in mind, we who possess answers to such questions should seek to inform, teach, instruct, and educate out of the love of Christ, the same love that he exercised for 3 years when teaching in his public ministry. We have no right to be flippant, self-centered, degrading, or anything else that is demeaning to others and boastful in ourselves. That is why I posted the note that I wrote. Sandman |

Sandman I understand. When reacting/responding to a situation which gets our attention, I always try to do two things: 1. Step back, relax and then ask the Holy Spirit for guidance in responding in a manner which will promote harmony, goodwill, cooperation and help maintain the dignity of man (mine and his). 2. I ask myself, (WWJD) What Would Jesus Do With regard to the students, age is not a factor. The people seeking the truth, knowledge and understanding cover the full spectrum of ages, backgrounds, and so on. Maybe, you and Radioman would help guide those who were lost, and are now found. Start with the basic discussions - but pertinent discussions, which will enable them to progress along the correct path. By providing guiding questions, and not the answers, you will be providing an opportunity to let the students learn, from their explorations and from their guidance by you and other teachers on this forum. But, always remember your responsibility, as a teacher,to your student and in accordance with your denomination (which at times, you may need to make sure others understand yours). Titus 2:1 You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine James 3:1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. Many people stand to benefit from your gift, if presented properly. I suspect you will live up to your responsibility. Brian |
