Dear Mark, Good comments! I often wonder why as Christians we are always following the world. In the Reformation whole new ideas in art, science, music, literature, and technology LED the world out of the "Dark Ages." Why aren't we doing inovative things today? Or am I just an old fogey? In Him, Doc When what? :-) "A third solution [to the problem of Christianity and culture], fortunately, is possible: consecration. Instead of destroying the arts and sciences or being indifferent to them, let us cultivate them with all the enthusiasm of the veriest humanist, but at the same time consecrate them to the service of [and submission to] our God." --J. Thanks, Doc! I think it goes back to the "itching ears" syndrome. If someone who wants to live in sin can find someone else to tell them they are ok, then they will often pay them to say that! Reformers seem to be those who become intolerant of the spiritual disease rampant within the church that they speak out, and find that there are many more equally intolerant, and together they endeavor to return to the roots of their faith. May it be so today! And you could be an old fogey anyway, but that doesn't excuse the rest of us! :-) Love in Christ, Mark PS: When I try to multi-task, with one task being editting a post, making sense is not always made! |

I understand. I have trouble with mono-tasking... possibly associated with my old-fogeyness. However, it doesn't seem that long ago, as a young fogey, that I was able to multi-task. | ||||||
