1 | Do you have to know Christ? | Eph 2:8 | 9-1-1 | 146649
I was listening to a Christian Radio station the other day, as I do every day, and I heard something that confused me and I would like some one to give their opinion. This PASTOR said that we can go to heaven just by being good and doing the right thing. That you don't have to know Christ. He was refer. to those who are not able to worship the Lord and those who know nothing about the Lord. Those of different countries. I know what the bible says about this, but I also know that Jesus Christ is LOVE and showing love to one another is something that even Christian's lack sometimes.

This is a good question you have posted “ Do you have to know Christ” and the answer is no you don’t “have to know Christ”, but as sure as hell fire and brimstone Jesus must identify your soul as a part of his body. Matt 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Matt 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' Matt 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' |

Matt 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS With this scripture in mind it's best that the lord knows us as a member of his body, full filling his purpose; rather than us thinking that we know him, and doing our own works as we deem fitting. I believe that it’s much better for God to know us, order our steps and we obey, as opposed to saying that we know him and honestly do not. Jesus said, “ Why call me lord and do not the things that I say.” Also, Jesus instructed us to let the wheat and tares grow up together, and when he returns he will do all the separating (Matt.13: 31-43). However, we are not the judges of who will enter into heaven; but God is the Judger of a soul’s final destination. For an example one could look at the thief on the cross next to Jesus, it doesn’t appears that he knew God by the lifestyle he was living, but his final destination was up to Jesus. |
