It has ... because I was taught that agape love was God's love, unselfish - asking for nothing in return ... and this love appears to be vainglory.

Searcher OK Thanks But as I said previously. Don't allow one verse to alter your view of the majority of Scripture. Don't build a doctrine or a theology on just one single verse of the Bible. Peace New Creature |

However, one verse can change what you believe ... and in this case I was mistaught and I was wrong ... so I changed my view on what agape love is. Apparently, you will not change ... or will you?

Searcher I have found that things I belived in the past were not totally Biblical. For instance; when I was new to the Christian faith, I was taught about "Eternal Security" but then as I continued to read and meditate on God's word, I personally find that teaching to not be exactly Biblical as it is being taught by many teachers. By continuing to prayerfully read God's word, God continues to teach me new things, and correct my understanding. So, if I were to say that my view won't or can't change, then that would be unwise because of past experience. I try to remain teachable and correctable. Thanks for your response New Creature |
