1 | Did Stephen see the Father? | Acts 7:55 | skccab | 195293
Shalom y'all I've had a question for awhile but haven't really known how to phrase it - not sure still that I can phrase it correctly - but here goes... To start, I understand the word used in Deut. 6:4 "echad" is a word similar to the Christian view of the Trinity, more than singular but yet One. I don't have a problem with the view of the 3 as we see it in Matthew at Yeshua's mikvah, He in the water, the Holy Spirit descending upon Him as a dove and the Voice of the Father being heard. In fact, I love the picture that verse gives. But in Acts 7:55 where Stephen sees the Son of Man standing to receive him (I love that picture!!) apparently also sees the Father (or so that is the impression the verse gives). Is this the only place where the 2 are "seen" together? And how is that possible? Am I reading that verse wrong? Or is it only the glory that he saw and just assumed the Father was there, and was He? Learning :-) Cheri |

2 | Did Stephen see the Father? | Acts 7:55 | DocTrinsograce | 195294
Dear Cheri, Aleichem Shalom. This position of authority in the Godhead was prophesied by David in Psalm 110:1). You will also see references to it in Hebrews 1:3 and 8:1. Although perception of any kind imposes one kind or another understanding on what is being perceived. Nevertheless, we may assume that what Stephen saw was in content what is described. In Him, Doc |

3 | Did Stephen see the Father? | Acts 7:55 | skccab | 195295
Morning Doc, Pretty early for ya!! Thanks for the quick reply. Gonna have a lot to ponder on here. Is it even comprehensible? It doesn't sound like it!! It's so big, God is growing bigger than my mind can see! This is a good thing, but confusing!! |

4 | Did Stephen see the Father? | Acts 7:55 | lionheart | 195297
Cheri, Good morning dear sis. I gotta agree with Doc on this one. There oft times things that our finite minds have trouble comprehending and it can get confusing at times. If we will keep 2 Timothy 2:15 in mind and try and look at whats there we will find things allot less confusing and we can be much more sure of what we do understand. Love ya, lionheart |
