Now Hank, You said, "I've found that the way these cultists deal with issues they don't understand and don't have pat answers for is by changing the subject or walking away with a dazed look on their faces." To be fair, you really have got to give them until the following week. How are they expected to deal with issues unless it comes out in the next weeks issue of the Watchtower or Awake magazines? Thanks for giving me a chuckle, Pastor Glenn, and come to think of it, you're very right. The folks who are guided in their faith week by week by the great light that the Watchtower sheds upon them do need to make sure that what they believe and teach is the latest thing off the press. After all, what the Watchtower taught last week may be obsolete this week, because new (and different) revelations come to the Watchtower gurus virtually every day. Reading the Watchtower and Awake publications reminds me of something my son, a computer whiz who holds a master's degree in computer science from MIT, said to me recently. "Dad," he said, "if you ever buy a PC that has to be shipped to you, insist on next-day delivery by air freight. Otherwise, it will be obsolete by the time it arrives." So goes it with the Watchtower publications. --Hank | ||||||
