Hey Powerfade, Let me first say that baptism is without a doubt necessary and essential for salvation? If it was not neccessary then why is there so many scriptures that say we must? Paul believed on the road to Damascus. Was he saved then? No, God told him to go and wait for Ananias and he would be told what he "must do". After he was told he went and was baptised. Let me ask you how you think on this, and what do you base your answer on? Raven |

Well I read what you sent and if you have to re-write the bible to get your point across then by default the message you are trying to send becomes a lie. Any bible that has been translated correctly from the original scrolls and writings says what it as always said. That baptism is essential for a person to be saved! When the Holy Spirit thru men inspired the word of God to be written, it was correct and complete the first time. It does not need to be re-written or interpreted for one to understand how to be saved. For scripture is clear when it says,2 Peter 1 19And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,[1] which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,[2] 21for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God[3] spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. And it is even clearer when it says, 1 Peter 3 19by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited[1] in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21There is also an antitype WHICH NOW SAVES US--BAPTISM(not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him. I hope this has helped. Raven |
