1 | What day are we COMMANDED to gather? | Acts 20:7 | Searcher56 | 177053
What day are we COMMANDED to gather? I cannot find anywhere in the Bible where we are commanded to gather together. - The fourth commandment only says to keep the Sabbath day holy. It does not say to gather. - The in the NT sometimes they gathered on the Sabbath and other times on the first day of the week. I want Biblical support (I do not care what any man thinks) for your answer that it is a COMMAND. I believe it is just a tradition. Steve |

2 | What day are we COMMANDED to gather? | Acts 20:7 | pete.shaw | 177054
Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight. Most commentators will tell you that "break bread" means the Lord's Supper or communion. The first century disciples met on Sunday to worship, break bread, Bible study, singing, praying, etc. See also, Heb 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. We don't have to have a command for everything. The apostles and other believer examples from the first century are good enough. 99 percent of Christendom worships on the first day of the week which is Sunday, so apparently we agree on that.
