"Because he [David] was a prophet and knew that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE, he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY." So, according to the King James version, God would not 'leave Jesus' soul in Hades.' So, yes, Jesus entered Hades when he was "slain." (Acts 2:23, 27, 31) |

Hello Paulus, If I may further note: To the question, "Where did Jesus go after he died?" According to Acts 2:25-27, Jesus said the Father would not leave his soul in hell or permit his Son to see corruption. The term hell here is Hades not Gehenna which is the lake of eternal fire. Peter is quoting from Psalm 16, vs. 10, a Messianic Psalm and the term hell there is Sheol (The OT designation for the abode of the dead). According to Acts 2:29-32 Jesus did go to Sheol Hades but he did not remain there. BradK |
