1 | Was it a man after God's own heart | Acts 13:22 | ebrain | 165889 | ||
Because the Lord God knew that David would in due time repent,for what he had done, and this is shown to be the case as Psalm 51 reveals. Raeading Psalm 51 shows us that no matter how much we have sinned, it is never so great that God will not forgive the truly repentant sinner. I know, He forgave me, I was almost 30 years old, and you can have no idea of the enormity of my sin, before He saved me. I thought "I had gone too far, and had done too much that I knew to be wrong for God to forgive me", however, He showed me that despite the enormity of my sin, He still loved me, and I was unable to resist any longer, and was overjoyed to receive His salvation. |

There is but one "unpardonable sin." I once detested the term "saved sinner," for in my scriptural ignorance, it appeared a contradiction. I now see the truth in that term, for we are all just that. |

Goodmorning bro, I'll add one more thing to this subject. David is the only person in the bible that God identified as a man after His own heart. Now we all know that David got into some very serious sin. But we also see Davids heart for God in his life. He was not hesitant where repentence was concerned. I think this was one of the things that made David unique in this respect. I think also that God knew we would need examples for our walks today. We can open our bibles at almost any point and see how God worked in the hearts of the great men and women God of that time. What a source of encouragement and example for us today. In Christ, lionheart |
