1 | Am I once and forever saved? | John 3:16 | New Creature | 85358
jbw A very important piece of Scripture to read that deals with this topic can be found in John Chapter 15. This is the "abiding" chapter. I suggest that you open your Bible to it, and then pray to God for wisdom and guidance to the correct meaning of this portion of God's Holy word. In John Chapter 16:1 you will find the following words of Jesus. "These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended." The wording "These things I have (past tense, or previously) spoken to you, refer to the things Jesus spoke preceding or before John 16:1. So you need to read the previous chapter - chapter 15 to see what things Jesus meant when he said - "These things I have spoken to you" Another interpretation of Jesus words in John 16:1 from a different version of that verse is worded follows. "I have said all this to you to keep you from falling away." John 16:1 (Revised Standard Version) The words of Jesus found in the following verse is a key verse on the topic in question, and comes from John Chapter 15 - it reads as follows - "If a man abide not me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (John 15:6) the Scriptural term "abide" means to remain - or to remain connected to the vine. “Security for branches depends entirely upon their connection with the vine. The secret of continued life is continued abiding. If a person does not abide in Christ, he withers, dies, and is finally burned up. The relation of a believer to Christ is never a static thing based only on past experience. It is a current mutual sharing of a common life which is drawn from Him. When the branch is separated from the vine, the source of life is gone. Nothing can wither and die that has not previously been alive.” (quoted from an unknown source) May the Holy Spirit of God give you wisdom and guidance through His word. New Creature |

2 | Am I once and forever saved? | John 3:16 | DAIRYLEADER5 | 85365
Once saved always saved is a deception, a frend of mine went to a church revivel about 7 years ago and was saved, he changed his life and for a while he was doing real good. His pastor told him and his study group once youve been saved theres no way to be lost again. So he went back to his old ways sleeping with any girl he could find and closeing the bars down. lets look at Heb. 6;1thru9, Mark 13;13,. Math.,24;13,. Mark 4;17,. Thes.1;4,. 2Tim.,4;3 thru 5,. Heb,. 12;16 thru 20. The Bible says That there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ. But if youve left your first love,God, then you are no longer in Christ. I hope this helps, please read for your self and make up your mind and ask God to help you see the truth. with love in Jesus.
