2 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186135
Hi Mrodri, Maybe it's the large spread of the Gospel and the pouring out of the Spirit as promised in Joel. A river that you can't go over, nor under, not even through it, you have to go "into" it, become a part of it. I'm just beginning to put the Word back into my life first place, so that's just a thought. There are some members of this forum, who, I'm sure will add much insight soon. |

3 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | mark d seyler | 186140
For myself, I take a literal view of this passage, and that the Jews will build this temple with all the rooms and patios and doorways, and everything described, and that from it will flow a river, that gets deeper and wider as it goes, becoming enough to purify all the land and sea. I always look at prophetic passages in the same way as other passages, as describing real events and such, unless there are specific instructions to take it symbolically, and the symbols are defined. Love in Christ, Mark |

4 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186141
Hi Mark, I take it that way as well, but the original person wanted to know the term "unleashed". So, as well as it being a literal building and river, I think there also is a symbolic meaning as well. The passage speaks first of Ezekiel wading, then treading, and then swimming. Blessings Cheri |

5 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | mark d seyler | 186144
Hi Cheri, I see . . . there was a second question on the same verse. I would have no difficulty using this description as a picture of the outpouring of God's Spirit. Love in Christ, Mark |

6 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186155
Blessings, Mark Thank you for your gracious reply. I told mrodri to look forward to other responses from people who know the Word a whole lot more than me. That was just my take on the passage as a whole and his/her question. I look forward to the others responses too. You guys are most helpful. (I'm sure you know the ones I'm referring to. I've been on the forum for about a week now and yours and their names just keep popping up. I've really enjoyed the dialogue and have grown thereby.) Thank you Cheri |

7 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | Searcher56 | 186165
God's morning to you, Cheri, The problem is what Mark says, MAY sound good. But, I don't see it as a "description as a picture of the outpouring of God's Spirit" ... it is not in the context. Do not believe everyehing you hear. Check it out (Acts 17:11) ... even from those you trust and have heard/read for years. This is prophecy. Period. Searcher |
