1 | Baruch the author of Jeremiah? | Jer 36:4 | Makarios | 9471
Did Baruch, Jeremiah's faithful scribe, write the entire book of Jeremiah, acting as an amanuensis (or stenographer)?
2 | Baruch the author of Jeremiah? | Jer 36:4 | Searcher56 | 9479
Nolan, not completely. Jer 1:2 looks like Baruch may of written the first two verses. From then on Baruch was the amanuensis, based on the verse you selected, and continues through to verse 18. He had to write another scroll (vv 28, 32). Baruch may of written the last chapter (52), based on 51:64. Steve |

Hello Steve! I agree. All the "experts" say that the book of Jeremiah was written by Jeremiah. There isn't much argument over authorship here. I was curious to see if anyone had any additional information that stated that Baruch was the author of Jeremiah. Over the past several days, I have posted a few questions regarding authorship of Paul's epistles and Jeremiah. The reason I have done this is because I "happened upon" this website: http://members.home.net/joe.viel/learn/paul.htm that states some rather 'interesting' ideas on the authorship of Paul's epistles. I do not agree with many things on this site. Blessings, Nolan! |

4 | Baruch the author of Jeremiah? | Jer 36:4 | Searcher56 | 9539
Nolan, I just read what the Bible said. So except for the fisrt two verses and the last chapter, Jeremiah dicated to Baruch. I found the same about the letters by Paul, excpet he dicated the entrire letter, except for when he wrote his mark. BTW the people in the beginning may of been those with him when he wrote/ dicated the letter. Steve |
