1 | Was Jesus physical body deformed? | Is 53:3 | cwade | 66033
Was Jesus ugly or deformed in some way in physical appearance? Could this be why Mary and the disciples did not recognize him after the ressurection? Was his ressurected/perfected body so much different than his physical body?

Scripture ... Matt 26:56, 28:9-10; Luke 24:16, 37; Mark 16:14; John 19:26, 20:15, 19-20 ... cwade, greetings. We do not know what He looked like after His ressurection. We know that John was at the cross (John 19:26). Since the disciples had fled (Matt 26:56), it may have been a factor in their not knowing Him ... if He was scared. But I think Mark 16:14 is key ... unbelief and hardness of heart may have kept many from recognizing Him Here are other accounts of His appearances: Matt 28:9-10 says they knew who He was Luke 24:16 their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him ... verse 37 But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit. John 20:15 weeping could have kept Mary from seeing Him clearly ... but, when He spoke he name, she knew who He was (vs 16) ... then the 11 knew who He was (vv 19-20) Searcher |

Thank you brother Searcher. How do you interpret Isaiah 53:3? What does it mean that He was "a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief... like one from whom men hide their face"? I once read that the story of Quasimoto was really a parody of Jesus. The author believed Jesus' physical body was deformed in some way (possibly a hump back etc...) Do you know of any Scripture verse that would deny this theory?
