Thank you Mark for your comformation on my question. I am trying to help my sister out of bondage. Our differences began when she asked me why I don't keep the Sabbath Holy? Meaning Saturday. I explained to her that the 10 commandments have changed. That they are written in out minds and heart, Hebrews 8:10. She said that if God's Laws changed " the 10 commandments" then Jesus died for nothing. I have given her all the scriptures that I could find on this, Romans 6:14 " because you are not under the Law but under grace, Galatians 5:4 and many more to prove about the Law verses grace. I also told her about being a Jew or a Gentile, which we are. It is to my understanding that the Gentiles did't come into God's plan until we get to the book of Acts. From Genisis to John, was at that time written for the Jews, not the Gentiles. It is now that we have been graphed into God's tree that we have been saved by grace. My question is this am I missing something somewhere? If so can you give me some advice? Thank you, from your brother in Christ. |

We are not under the Law, but under Grace. Shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? Read Romans chapter 6. We are not under the PENALTY of the Law. Christ did not die on the cross so that we could murder, lie and cheat on our spouses. We can not earn salvation by keeping the law. But we certainly can lose it by willfuly breaking the law. (2 Pet. 2:20,22;1 Cor. 9:27; Jer. 18:7-11;1 Cor. 15:1,2;)Read also Matthew chapter 5:17-19. When it seems that the Bible contradicts itself, assume that you’ve misinterpreted it. The evidence in favor of the Law, and yes, even the Sabbath is massive in weight. The evidence against it is circumstantial at best. Truth is like fence posts. If we base our beliefs on one misapplied text, we can line it up to make the Bible say just about anything we want. But when we find many texts that go against our one or two texts, we should assume we’ve misinterpreted the text. Weigh the evidence. Listen to your sister. Read the word. The word is the only rule by which we should base our beliefs. We should not base them on tradition. With Christian Love Ocelot |

Ocelot; I think you must have misunderstood what I was saying, Because you said I should listen to my sister. My sister believes on living under the old Testament Laws. The Laws that God gave to Moses. She doesn't believe that we are save by grace, That we are only saved by obeying the Law, and that means keeping Saturday Holy, The Sabbath. We as Gentiles keep Sunday Holy and live under the new Covenant. I have given her all of these scriptures and more from the New Testament. I was just wondering if I might have missed something or not. The Law is now written in our minds and hearts, not on stone. I fully agree with you on what you have written but it is not me that does not believe, It is however my sister. Your brother in Christ |

Timberwolf If your sister believes that she is saved by keeping the law, then you are right and she is not. However if she is simply trying to keep the law because she loves God and wants to obey Him, then she is right. With Christian love Ocelot |
