1 | Did God cause the tsunami | Mark | felgerdon | 141384
Is the tsunami that occurred in Indonesia and killed possible 200000 people an act of God? In pre Christian times people would certainly have recognized it as such. How do I distinguish an act of God from just a natural occurrence?
2 | Did God cause the tsunami | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141391
How can you say that God did not cause the tsunami? We don't know the mind of God. Many hundreds and perhaps even thousands of Christians have been martyred in those countries which have been hit by the tsunami. In fact, the aid which goes there is given to the Hindu first and the Christians get what's left over -- if there is anything left over to get. A missionary friend of mine is going to India on the 12th of January and she is taking money to the Christians over there. She says, "We must take care of our own." I know this is a different perspective than you are used to hearing on the news programs, but they do not even bring God into the equation. This is just a little food for thought. Janae. |

3 | Did God cause the tsunami | Mark | EdB | 141398
Janae Just to set the record straight "SIN" caused the disaster. God may have allowed it to happen. God may have even sent it. But the fact remains "SIN" and sin alone is responsible for it. Ultimately man is responsible for that sin. Since we don’t know the mind of God we have to stand on what Jesus said in Luke 13:1-5 (KJV) 1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. And that is we all need salvation from “SIN” or we will all perish! EdB |
