Finder: I am reading the book of Job this week. If ever there was a person wishing he had never been born it was Job. I believe for some of us life can be very hard. I can relate to having been in such pain I wished I would die. However, when I have endured such feelings Psalm 139 has become more meaningful everytine I have felt that way. I have seem others in enotional pain that have felt they wanted life to end too. Pain comes in many forms. I have learned to pray to be in the center of Gods will. A prayer that askes to be in His direct will will NEVER go unanswered! This has come to me after much soul searching and looking for answers from God as to WHY. Scripture says to walk by faith, not by sight. Faith walking is not an easy road! I pray that something I have shared helps in sone way. Blessings. Justme |

justme, Greetings my brother. It becomes so difficult at times when one is enduring chronic pain or illness. I think Job epitemizes what is possible fore all of us when we keep our focus on God and our trust in Him. In spite of the pain, adversity, and suffering in the life of Job we see that he spoke what was right about God.He did not allow his faith to be shiprecked. As a result it tells us that God restored Job's fortunes and that his end was better than at the beginning. It's possible for us be joyful even in the midst of pain and suffering. I love the first 41 chapters of Psalms. It gives us so much heart and hope no matter what we may suffer or endure.Quality of life has nothing to do with the lack of pain or suffering or of even how much we endure. It's the quality of our faith, trust and love fore our Lord that will reflect the quality and impact of our lives.Your right it's not an easey road we walk, but it can definitly be a fruitful and joyful one. In Him, lionheart |

lionheart: I personally have found that suffering is as C. S. Lewis said, that suffering was one way to get the worlds attention. (this is not a quote) I found that Romans 8:29 answered my questions as to what benefit or purpose suffering served. We are becoming mor like Jesus Christ. I discovered this verse in 1985, and from that time I have never questioned the "WHY" of anything that has come to serve me to grow in Christ. There is a book and I don't reemember the Author, but I believe the title was THE MEANING OF SUFFERING. The author has been in the death camps in WW II. He was a rabi if I remember correctly. Of all the authors I have found more helpful information from C. S. Lewis. Suffering is the norm for most of the world. We in the USA see suffering as punishment, and perhaps even take on the role of Jobs friends without knowing it. For me, I can say I am blessed and shown that Holy Father loves me and is in total control of my life. Thanks for your note, blessings. justme |
